My original starter spring refused to recoil. This unit quickly and easily replaced it and has been no problem since then.

Works great it's truly is up grade from stock.
This is the second one I've purchased for different units I repair these engines for a living this will be my go to recoil for this type of engine it come with the peice that goes on the crankshaft it has 2 metal fingers. The stock one has 1 plastic finger. It's cheaper to upgrade to this then having the old one repaired and you end up with a better recoil assembly

Works for HMC Green Machine 3000lp / with little modification
I bought this in hopes of finding a inexpensive replacement starter for an old HMC Green Machine. With a little help from my dremel to slot the holes, it worked! The machine screws that were supplied were too small but I didn't expect them to since the applications were different. Was able to find 4 panhead 8-32 machine screws and was good.The construction of this recoil starter is superb. Felt sturdy and strong. The price point is even better! Looking at similar pull starters meant for weedwackers, they wanted 30-40 bucks!

Dissapointed
This item is horrible. Do not buy. First the screws with the kit our to short to grabe anything. I used the pull start about 15 pulls and it sheared a large chuck off the inside of the pull start. Now wont grab. Very disappointed

Not for x1 as described
Did not come with the decal sticker.. So it's plan black not as described in pictures advertised... Haven't installed it yet, will update post on work condition once I install electric starter.. It's forx1 mini bike 49cc rebuild... 10/8/20 update.. I installed the pull start, the rope opening is facing down not upright. I pulled the pull start and my starter/puller bolt broke.. not happy about that. I returned it back and now I have to deal with the headache this item created..
