Screw #Givebacktheshield! Sam Wilson is Captain America and that's that!
The story starts off with Steve Rogers back in action, deciding to share the mantle of being Captain America with Sam Wilson. Then, Sam heads to Philly to give an inspiring eulogy to a fallen hero. Next thing you know, Sam has a a lot on his plate such as being asked to join either Team Iron Man or Team Captain Marvel over the dispute of an inhuman who can see the future and dealing with the Americops, a privatized police force known for using excessive force on people of minority.Meanwhile, a Congressman, a right-wing talk host and a businessman are working together to influence a campaign against Sam, using the media and government to pressure him into giving back the shield back to Steve Rogers, their true Captain America! Things get more interesting when U.S.Agent steps in to take back the shield himself!Nick Spencer is tackling this one well. He's focusing on how Sam Wilson is dealing with racism and inequality as he keeps on doing what he feels is right. I can relate this to what's going on today. We had a black man in office who made great changes for America. Now, we have a crummy white man in office, trying to tear down everything that the previous President have done. In this book, we see a corporate bigotry consists of white males, trying to discredit a black man for carrying on the mantle of a great American hero. What I can say is that Sam Wilson is Captain America and if anyone can't accept that, then too bad! They can find ways to get on his nerves but he will continue doing what he does best, fighting for everyone!

Captain America: Sam Wilson Vol. 3: Civil War II
In the wake of the Standoff , Steve Rogers is reinvigorated and back in the red, white and blue. Sam Wilson still wields the shield, but must once again struggle to find his place in the country he seeks to represent. Can the United States handle two Captain Americas? Things may get even worse when Civil War erupts. Against the backdrop of a deepening crisis, Sam is called upon to honor a fallen hero - and speak to a divided nation. But will anyone listen to him? Maybe not with #givebacktheshield trending. As the battle lines form, Sam must choose a side. But when the Americops come, what's he gonna do?COLLECTING: CAPTAIN AMERICA: SAM WILSON 9-13a fabulous comic which features the return of the US Agent who under orders tries to take back the shield from sam wilson the current captain america who is cracking under the pressure and struggling to keep the people safe and the police from all out rioting when the new americops decide that a different kind of justice is needed for the streets sure it keeps the crime rates down but at the cost of the people's trust to the police when people are getting beaten up and harassed by them for the tiniest of complaints and for the use of excessive force

Nick Spencer and AcuΓ±a WOW!
When any medium tries to reflect some societal issue, it can easily go awry. Comic books approach some issues and it can be so clunky and awkward, after all, the point of fiction is to deliver us out of the sometimes too painful real world, but what Spencer has weaved is beautiful, funny and not at all clunky. The use of all the rich history of Marvel to continue this Cap run is inspiring. These characters feed this narrative so well, but none better than Sam Wilson. Indeed the crown is heavy and it shows, damn it really shows as we are able to see and feel his very human heart try to do his best for all. The art is superb, so many emotions and epic scenes. Some loud and bombastic and then those quiet and reflective. Beautiful. Let go!

I'm so glad that I did
Dear lord, where to start? I left comic books after wedding event that shouldn't happened. When I return to comics due to the appearance of Sam Wilson in Captain America movie.. The character really appeal to me. So, I began to research and started picking up comic books. After reading Captain America and the Falcon tradeback, I picked up first volume. I'm so glad that I did. First off, I love this series. It break my heart and mends it back with masking tape just to break it again. All because of Sam Wilson. You feel his struggles, his hopes, his dreams, and most of all, his strength through this series. It just a wonderful read. Can't wait until the next volume.

Finally from a storyline from a non Caucasian male point of experience!
Finally a storyline from a non Caucasian male point of experience! Even the Caucasian male corporate bigotry is exposed in their militant drive to criminalize and demonize the Black superhero with all of the forms of media they own or control. This is a great era to live and see such writing and storylines that were impossible to clear less than a generation ago. Bravo!ππΎππΎππΎππΎ

Age old Civil War revisited.
I'm awarding the full five stars here as this is a quality and worthy production. Artwork is fine, atmospheric without being muddy and the characterization is deeper and more rounded here than almost any other title these days. This is not frivolous four-colour frothy super-heroics bordering on childish cartoon - this is interesting, involving and challenging political morally ambiguous writing worthy of your attention and debate. On the surface the reader surely feels the Shield should be handed back - Steve Rogers is young, vital and available again - but Sam makes a quality upstanding example of a new-world Captain America and sways the reader that has a necessary role.Throwing the USAgent into the mix is a perfect move. There are 'black' plot-points everywhere with the grouping of heroes at Rhodey's funeral, Misty's relationship with Sam and the contrast between Sam and Rage which actually work well with Sam's history as the Falcon - (the first?) Marvel hero without the word Black in his name. This is grown-up super-heroes and it's highly recommended.
