Change on the Fly: Totally Pucked, Book 1

A swoony hockey romance I couldn't put down!
When we first met Reed in The Newspaper Nanny I was really intrigued by him. I should have known that Maren Moore would give us a book and a whole series about the hockey team he’s a part of. You’ll recognise the Avalanches as the team Liam used to coach, but now that he’s moved onto high school hockey, we’re getting a 5-book series about a group of hockey players to fall in love with. And so far, I love what we’re getting and just how exciting this series is going to be.Change on the Fly is the first of the Totally Pucked series and it follows Reed Davidson as he goes from being the responsible playboy of the team to becoming a guardian to his nephew and falling for his little sister’s best friend. Reed and Holland deliver so many feels in this book and I absolutely devoured it in one sitting, because that’s just how fun, flirty and sexy Maren Moore’s stories are.I absolutely loved Holland. Her love for her father and her best friend is so beautiful, and even though her heart wants what it wants, she’s been holding herself back from following through because she knows it’ll hurt Emery. Holland is a quiet character, she works hard and she loves just as hard. As a book lover and someone who puts everyone else’s well being over hers, Holland is really easy to relate to and love. She’s got such a big heart and when she meets Evan, Reed’s nephew, you can see just how much love is in her soul and how much she’s willing to give for that little boy.Reed might be my favourite Maren Moore hero so far. He starts out as a player and a protective older brother, but when he’s thrust into this difficult situation, Reed adapts. His character growth and his strength is incredible. I love that even though he hesitated about taking Evan in, the minute that kid was in his life, he put everything on the line for him. I also admired the fact that Reed asked for help when he needed it, instead of just convincing himself that he could totally do everything on his own. He’s also an incredible hockey player and I loved that his teammates lean on him and admire him when it comes to almost everything. And his love for his family went above and beyond, I honestly just loved everything about him.And of course, Reed and Holland’s relationship was great! As the older brother of her best friend, Holland has been in love with Reed her whole life. She’s loved him from a distance and she’s been good about never letting him know. But when she agrees to go with him on the road as Reed and the Avalanches attend away games, things start to change. Reed’s also seeing Holland in a new light, he’s drinking in her beauty and her curves and her charm, and it’s becoming harder for them to resist each other. For Emery’s sake, they’re keeping their distance, but one night all the lines get blurred and all of a sudden they can’t keep their hands off of each other.Maren Moore writes great steam and it’s just as incredible with Reed and Holland. I loved that even after hesitating for a bit, they jump into a purely physical relationship while they’re travelling. It’s hot, sexy and delicious every single time they’re together and all that sexual desire that they hold inside the first half of the book explodes the moment they’re alone together.I am desperately waiting for the rest of these books, because between the titles and the little sneak we got for Sincerely, The Puck Bunny I’m going crazy thinking about what could be coming!

Sugary sweet and fast paced
I like a story with some build up of chemistry between the characters, didn't get that here. It was all too fast and far too sweet for my taste. The story pretty much goes from Reed (male lead) and Holland (female lead) not having a one on one conversation in years to deciding to sleep together after being on a road trip. It was pretty predictable, even one issue that arrived towards the end was sorted out far too quickly. There are times where I felt that Evan (Reed's nephew) was not in the picture even though he actually was, what with Reed being his legal guardian; times like Reed and Holland would not check their PDA around the kid which was somewhat annoying since elders are supposed to be mindful of stuff like that around toddlers. There are also some editing mistakes like Reed being introduced as centre of the hockey team and Holland later referring to him as the team front. Overall, I did not connect with the book.

A swoony Hockey Romance!💓🏒
I absolutely loved this story. Brother's bestfriend makes one of the most entertaining trope for me...forbidden and angsty.Reed and Holland make the most perfect pair. Reed is a professional hockey player. He is great at taking care of everything but when life takes him up on a tragedy he is left with a custody of his nephew, very hard to handle on his own. Enters Holland, his sweet neighbor who has a crush on him forever. She helps him with his nephew, and this close proximity change both of their life. He falls for her but this time Holland is hiding her secrets. Will she be able to resist the only man who makes her heart flutter ?This sport Romance was such a hit for me. Reed was such a strong yet vulnerable man. And Holland was so relatable, to every girl who had a crush but never dared to step up. I love this couple and Evan, the little boy made this book so worth while. Recommending this to all sports Romance lovers.

Fun and amazing read!!
Reed Davidson, a hockey player whose career was at its peak and he loved his life as a bachelor. His days were spent on the hockey field and nights in clubs partying with his friends and chasing puck bunnies. Then some tragedy happened and he had to become guardian to his 3-year-old nephew whom he had never met. His whole life shifted in 24 hours from this carefree guy to now being a dad to a 3-year-old. In all of this, he started noticing his little sister's best friend Holland, that how she grew up into an amazingly beautiful woman.Holland Parker had a secret of her own which is she was in love with her best friend's brother since childhood. She never acted on this as she was afraid of losing her best friend and also because she promised her that she'll never think of Reed anything other than her best friend's brother.Reed asked for help from Hol for his guardian situation and she agreed to it. Everything started shifting between them but they were cautious cs they didn't wanna hurt Em's ( Reed's sister and Hol's best friend) feelings, that's why they make rules which were meant to make everything easier but all it did was make their situation more complicated. Soon they started to break these rules and started falling for each other.“𝑶𝒖𝒓 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒕 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆 𝒎𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒄𝒌𝒆𝒚 𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎.”“𝑨𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕?”“𝑪𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆 𝒐𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒇𝒍𝒚. Loved Reed and Holland!
I absolutely loved Reed and Holland, oh and Evan was just the cutest! I loved Reed when we first met him in The Newspaper Nanny so was excited when I found out his story would be the first book in a brand new hockey series! If you love friends to lovers, sisters best friend, boy next door this ticks all those boxes and more! Reed's life is about to change in a blink of an eye. His Hockey career is going well, he is very close to both his mum and sister but has pretty much zero contact with his father until he gets a call that will change his life forever!Suddenly he is guardian to the cutest little boy called Evan after his mum (who happens to be Reeds half sister) and his Dad are both killed but Reed needs help! Holland has a lot going on, but she will always be there to help Reed, he can just never find out that she has a massive crush on him and has done since forever! There chemistry is sizzling! What starts of as casual quickly develops into much more! I could not put this down and I am excited to read more books from Maren.

Reed takes it upon himself to become guardian of his half sister’s son, Evan.A nephew he never even knew about, he wasn’t close with his half sister. Reed knows nothing about taking care of a kid all on his own.Evan shows up & turns out he suffers from night terrors, after calling everyone he knows & not having one person answer his call. He calls the only other person he can think of.“𝑰’𝒎 𝒔𝒖𝒅𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒎𝒚 𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒔𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒓’𝒔 𝒃𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒇𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅.“Then comes, Holland Parker, the girl next door. So that she can keep Evan company as he’s taking a liking too her.The chemisty/sexual tension between Reed & Holland is hard for them to ignore once they are around each other so often. Therefore, they come up with a plan. A on the road only plan, so strings & rules to follow…..Rule number 1: Don’t fall in love. And most certainly, do NOT let Emery find out.“𝑵𝒐𝒘 𝑰 𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒛𝒆 𝒘𝒉𝒚 𝒔𝒉𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐 𝒑𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒍𝒆𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒏 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉, 𝒐𝒏𝒍𝒚 𝑰’𝒎 𝒂𝒍𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒚 𝒅𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒍𝒚 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒃𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒎.”Let’s also not forget the steamy scenes…🔥Reed really knows how to please a women, good lord.He has officially become another favorite hockey book boyfriend

Sweet Sports/Single Dad Romance
TITLE: Change on the FlyGENRE: Contemporary RomanceAUTHOR: Maren MooreTROPE: Sports, Single Dad, Friends-to-LoversTYPE: Series (Totally Pucked Book 1)MY RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ /5I have not read a lot of the sports romance trope, but true to my Canadian upbringing, how could I not get behind a hockey player romance? Reed is a star NHL hockey player who has recently taken on the single dad role. Emery grew up as the girl next door and is also the best friend of Reed's sister. Emery has had a secret crush on Reed since she was young, and now he has just begged her to go on the road with him to help look after his son. How can she say no when Reed's family feels more like her own? I must admit I enjoyed the book and found it to be a sweet story with a HEA. A single dad trope is not one that I am drawn to, but I did enjoy that as part of Reed's character. I found this a quick and enjoyable read.
