Saved this dad’s life! WEAR YOUR HELMET!!
I bought this in 2015 and leaving this review in 2019: Saved my life. The last mile of a 20 mile ride, 1 mile from home, I crashed on the last turn on a bike path when my front tire got stuck in some soft sand and the rear flew around and threw me off. The rest of my body was really messed up and I was bedridden for weeks but my head was perfectly fine… not even a concussion and I was thrown head first! I was told by the paramedics that if I survived without my helmet, I surely would’ve had a traumatic brain injury. I feel like this helmet saved my life. I have to say that I am upgrading and buying a much more expensive helmet for my new one. An extra few bucks is well worth the safety. Thank you Schwinn for producing an affordable, comfortable helmet that protects the noggin! So grateful and thankful to be alive. By the way, I always found the helmet very comfortable and my head never got too hot. Great all-around basic helmet.

Life saver
I bought this helmet back in October. I am not an avid bike rider, but my friend and I try to go every Friday morning. I have to say this thing probably saved my life yesterday! I had a collision with a deer- yes a deer and I got banged up pretty good- the helmet only suffered minimal damage- a crack in the front and the visor was torn off- but the EMT's were certain I could have had some serious brain injuries had I not been wearing it.- So bottom line- for the price- this helmet did its job and did it well!

Could fit up to a 12 year old... NOT FOR ADULTS! (despite the "14+" label on it...)
If you have a normal/large size head, you will look like a british woman at high tea with one of those goofy pinned-on hats.Everyone else leaving reviews saying it's large must be buying this helmet for a child, the Geico gecko, or actually have a pea-sized head.A bike helmet should cover in the front down to 2 finger widths above your eyebrows. When I tilt it forward enough for that; the entire back of my head has zero coverage. As for width, there are still easily 2.5 inches above each ear exposed. The circumference of helmet itself does not shrink or expand like the adjustable hockey helmets - all you are adjusting is the strappy things inside this helmet. That does little good when the helmet itself doesn't even cover beyond the top of your head.It seems well made, lightweight, and is easy to adjust the strappy things, so I gave it 3 stars but I feel the description about adjustable for proper fit was misleading.

Pretty helmet...comfortable. But the pretty part fell off after a year.
This is a very pretty helmet that fits nicely over my head with a chin strap that is long and adjustable enough to fit comfortably. I have a small head, but my husband tried it on with some adjustment, and it fit him, too. There are two places to adjust the fit: one is in the back of the helmet...a nob that turns to reduce the straps/size inside the helmet and the chin strap. One thing I like about this helmet is that there is enough room (with adjustment) to wear a hat (baseball or other) under the helmet.Update: The pretty exterior part of the helmet fell off after a year. I am gluing it back on.

Not the Best, Not the Worst
Not the best helmet I've worn, not the worst. I bought it to replace a much worse one, and it's been doing it's job ever since. Ladies beware--certainly don't expect to be able to wear any type of ponytail with this, no matter how small, unless you've got it tucked down at the nape of your neck and loose. That can make for a hot neck and messy hair day.--so there's room for improvement. But it's good value for the money, and I cycle mainly for short commutes so I didn't want to invest in a better one.
