Preston Bailey's Fantasy Weddings

I knew when I ordered this book that it would be extravagant, over-the-top, lush, exotic, and all those similar adjectives that people use to mean "costs lots and lots of money." I in no way expected anything in it to be remotely affordable for my wedding, nor was I really looking for inspiration. I just wanted to enjoy the pretty pictures. I'm a big fan of Preston Bailey's blog, and I looked forward to seeing larger pictures and a broader range of whole scenes.I got that. I love the fairy-tale quality of his work. If what you want is huge, gorgeous pictures of extravagant scenes, this is the right book. But... I have to say, I was disappointed in how much repetition of theme I saw. Preston Bailey seems to have chosen many of these designs to contrast them, but some features cropped up over and over again. Maybe it's the nature of the photographs, which tend to focus on the same elements every time. Perhaps if I saw them in person they'd seem less similar, but from a designer who works with such high budgets, I expected to see more things that stunned me. Flower quantity alone doesn't do it.If I see one more towering centerpiece that looks virtually identical to all the other towering centerpieces I've seen on TV and on wedding blogs--I'm going to yawn.

This book is awesome,however, I am not able to do this caliber of work with florals or fabric. I saw this florist/event planner on Oprah show and signed on to Amazon to see if he had any books. I have been flower arranging for friends, family, work events and gifts. I have taken about four 8 week courses and two 2 day courses at a adult school and a extension course with a junior college. I believe these events are put on by people who are very wealthy and money is no object. I found these arrangements to be very insipirational and they help you to stretch your creative mind to think outside of the box. This man is the creme of the crop in the florist business.

Again this book is a little dated. I was under the impressions it was some of his newer designs. But I enjoyed reading it. The book came in excellent condition and it even had an invitation to a Preston Bailey event stuck in the book. I assume the previous owner forgot and left it in there. Oh yeah, the book was even signed by Preston himself.

I've always known Preston Bailey to be the "King" of Weddings but this book more than exceeded my expectations. Bailey's ability to create an absolute blank 'canvas' into an absolute fantasy for anything a bride could conceive of. A talented man that anyone would be lucky to have design their 'custom-fantasy wedding' in a way no other could imagine! A definite must-read!

This is a beautiful book with great photos. It is in excellent condition too. Great ideas but as you probably know, Preston Bailey is very "Over-the-top" which there is nothing wrong with, just very expensive. This book gave me some wonderful "Knock-off" ideas however that will be very lovely.

Loved the book. It was even nicer than I hoped. Wonderful purchase. All of the books from this author are worth their price in ideas and the pictures are beautiful.

Beautiful photos his work is amazing

Lovely photos but if your looking for hints and tips how to do these yourself don't buy it ! I flicked through it but probably won't ever look at it again.
