these very plain mat boards look like poster board. They are usable but just barely. They do not approach the quality of Bainbridge mat boards

This is a white cardboard, not suitable for matting. It's more like the backing you would use when framing.

Appropriate for backing board or student presentations but you wouldn’t want to see this around your artwork permanently.

Used for mounting cross stitch and needlepoint pieces.

I was specifically inspired to write this review because of how perfectly these mats were packed. The double-boxing really kept everything, including the corners, absolutely perfect.
