Awesome cook book
Got these for a gift for my husband who is Japanese American s as bd he loves them. Nice to have on hand to refer to his favorite recipes.

Oseti recipes in English
I enjoy Nami's forum. This book tells how to make all Japanese new year dishes in English using readily available ingredients. I enjoy her comments with history of each dish. It is the best compendium of Japanese New Year cooking! Photos of the dishes in this book are authentic and encourage me to meet the challenges for cooking something new to me or my mother might have cooked.

Pretty much all the basics in one place for 3rd generation Japanese American
After my Mom passed away she took her knowledge of Osechi with her, although she was willing to teach my sisters and I, we didn't pay enough attention. I have been gathering online recipes combined with my Japanese cookbooks to do Osechi Ryori, but this is the first time most of the recipes are in one place.

Reminds me of Grandma
Most of the recipes looked familiar. Food Grandma would cook.Unfortunately, would have to mail order some of the ingredients.

Clear and simple authentic Japanese dishes
This is an awesome cookbook. The third in a series of authentic Japanese cookbooks. This is a wonderful book. It breaks down the recipes into simple steps. Easy to follow. Everything is guaranteed to taste awesome! My go to book. My mom who is a second generation Japanese Canadian in her 90's reviewed the books including this one and gave it her thumbs up!

Das Buch ist ok, die Rezepte sehr einfach gehalten und die Publikationen schön gestaltet. Jedoch hätte ich mir für den Preis eine Hard Cover Version gewünscht und anstelle der Illustrationen mehr Inhalt, sprich, Rezepte und Anleitungen

Wonderful recipes written clearly for the layman.
I loved the book: the size of the print, the photos and well-written recipes make the recipes easy to follow even for the layman.
