Much improved new design. Beautiful case
All these earlier reviews are about the early Musilia models. The Velcro has been replaced with buckles and the interior glue improved , padding design has been improved. Handles are stronger. Latches seem to hold up but if you don’t have the case closed properly or have and obstruction them try and use the latch to force closure it will bend either the hook, which can be bent back, or you bend the draw latch. The point is to have a light case so there has to be some care taken on the users part. Also buy from a reputable shop that provides customer service follow up , don’t price shop to save a few dollars from Amazon then expect the manufacturer to help that’s what the small shops are for.

hardware too cheap, don't buy this one.
I bought this case 2.5 years ago. The case is indeed lightweight, but the hardware is cheap and won't last. Already the latches are not fitting right and the case is not secure. The rep said, the warranty is only two years, so no fixing it. He offered that i could pay to ship it to him, both ways, and then pay "a small fee " to have it fixed. No, that's not helpful. If they are going to charge $1500-2000 for a case --- which is basically just padding and air, then the manufacturer should spend for heavier duty hardware. The latches are very poor quality, and lightweight. . The rep said," yes, a lot of our cases have that problem, that is just normal wear and tear. " so I bet that they get this complaint a lot. That is why they only warranty for 24 months, i guess. Check around and buy a different case, with better hardware. I am already stuck with repairing these latches, but won't buy Musilia next time around.

Very promising case, but HORRIBLE customer support
I loved this case when I first got it. It's light and good-looking. My friend got a white one and I got the black one. We were happy for about 3 months, when the already weak velcro stopped working. Unlike other cello cases, the velcro was too small and didn't offer enough stickiness. This means our cellos don't stay held down in our case. They shake and we hear and feel them shake. We both feel the cases no longer offer enough protection for our dear cellos. I emailed Musilia to see if they have solutions. No reply. I emailed again, no reply. My friend emailed too. As you guessed, no reply. To add insult to injury, one of the latches on mine broke and I don't know how to replace it. It really sucks that a $1000+ case works so poorly only a few months after the purchase. Be warned, this case holds a lot of promise, but if anything goes wrong, don't expect any support from Musilia.

Nice exterior, shoddy interior
Like the previous reviewer, I've also had ongoing problems with the Velcro strap used to secure the neck of the cello inside the case. There have been a number of ongoing problems with the strap -- first, the straps stretch out over (not very much) time, which means that the two halves of the Velcro don't match up properly, and second, the Velcro doesn't have enough grip to stay stuck together. More recently, one side of the Velcro became completely detached from the strap, making it completely useless. And since the straps are riveted into the body of the case, there's no way to replace them. Without a secure attachment at the neck, my cello bangs around inside of the case when I carry it, which seems terrible for the instrument. It makes me sad that this one small part of the case is shoddily constructed, as the rest of the case is pretty awesome -- light weight, protective, and with good adjustments to fit different sized instruments.
