Mercer Culinary Genesis 7-Piece Forged Steak Knife Set, Steel/Black

I've only had these for a couple of weeks, but they are beautifully built, come in a very nice zippered nylon case, and are very sharp. They fit very comfortably in our large hands and are weighted perfectly. I'm following the care instructions carefully, as my biggest concern will be "rusting." We live in a tropical environment. I hope these last for years!!!!!

Man, these knives come pretty sharp. This is my first set of real steak knives. A chef friend of mine referred this brand to me when I mentioned the words "quality" and "low budget." Be careful when you wash these knives by hand. They are sharp. I handwash them and dry them with a towel. I leave the plastic covering on the blades to prevent accidents.The knives slip in and out of the case pretty flawlessly except the two middle knives. The middle ones are too snug so it will require both hands.I would defiantly recommend these knives. The "7" piece set includes 6 knives and the rolling case is considered the 7th piece.

These are a wonderful set of steak knives. They are sharp, come in a beautiful roll up package for safe keeping/storage. Love them. So glad I bought!!!

I bought these steak knives to replace my old serrated ones from college, the kind that "never need sharpening". Well, it's true I never sharpened the old ones because they had very deep serrated edges, but this meant literally tearing through your meat.In my quest to upgrade all of my kitchen-ware and knives, I bought these to match my other Mercer cutlery. I've been very happy with the quality of the Mercer knives and I like the "rubberized" handle because it is thicker, offers better control when wet and still looks like very high quality.You can't tell from the pictures, but these steak knives have the same thick rubberized handle, very comfortable. From the tip to about 1/3 of the way down these knives are serrated, very slightly though, not very deep. I haven't prepared a good steak yet to test these out, but on fruits and veggies that I've cut, these are great. These knives are very sharp and heavy enough that I would never imagine these getting bent from a little misuse, which should never happen now that we have nice cutlery.I will update after I get to truly use these as they were intended.

Last year we a set of Mercer knives and like them so much that we wanted matching steak knives.They are very well-balanced, sharp and easy to maintain. We just bought a set of steak knives for a Christmas present.

These are VERY nice and will go wonderfully with the set of larger knives from Mercer. I have the bigger set, but it didn't have any steak knives. These feel great in the hand and they will easily cut any meat without the large serrated edges.

Love the steak knive set. Would buy it again. I purchased the knive block set before this and loved. So I bought this set. Sharp! Like I wanted. Seems like good quality material.

These knives are excellent. They are well designed ergonomically and they are incredibly sharp. I could have cut a piece as thin as onion skin from my steak. They slide through steak like butter. Such an improvement from my old wooden handle serrated knives. The case is excellent. You could carry these steaks to the cottage or anywhere in their case. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these knives.

These are great knives. Very sharp perfect for cutting meat and many other things.
