It was okay
By chapter 11, I was annoyed that the hero and heroine was not honest about how they felt for each other and the baby. They both thought the worst of the other. Nikolai, and Emma were both strong independent people on the outside. They both had traumatic past that made them question how others felt about them. They said they didn't, but they both craved to be loved. Strong on the inside, but weak emotional. It turned out to be a good book. Everything feel into place when they took a chance, and told each other how they really felt. Sometimes you have to let go of your pride, and insecurities to really find love. With some books the inner turmoil makes the book better. With this book I didn't feel the strong pull of attraction between the hero and heroine.

odd
It was really slow starting. She got pregnant and he thought she was coming to tell him so she get get something from him. He tells her they'll get married. He accuses her of using him to get what she wanted, even though he knew he'd not used protection......and all she did was tell him about the baby she was a gold digger. So he thinks she's a lier but she falls in love with her. He thinks she's got a side piece, a gold digger, and a lier but somehow falls in love all the while accusing her of these things and using her for sex. Then they both admit the love each other in Central Park. I stopped there. I literally made is 89% through the book and I couldn't. I found myself skipping everything and just reading the dialogue because it was so ridiculous. How can you love someone that you think the worst about and she's just so whinny and a victim. I know most female characters are victims at some point but usually they become strong. She just gets sadder and sadder.

Not worth reading
I can usually find some redeeming qualities in any book, especially a romance. There was no substance here. Not on my re-read list.

A wonderful story with an incredible setting!
Nikolai Cunningham is successful, rich, and sinfully attractive but is hiding a family secret that could destroy the reputation he has cultivated for the past 17 years. Emma was a product of the foster care system. She is beautiful, talented and would do anything to give her younger sister every advantage. When she takes a job that involves meeting Nikolai in Russia for a family exclusive she jumps at the chance to further her career. The attraction between them is immediate and intense. However, they agree to nothing more than a one night stand until it results in a pregnancy. Will Nikolai move forward or stay paralyzed with fear over his past? Will Emma sacrifice herself to protect her sister and unborn baby? Will they both recognize true love before it’s too late?Rachel Thomas delivers another amazing storyline with incredible settings and complex characters. Simply fantastic!

I enjoyed this setting!
A blustery winter in Russia sets the scene for the main characters to meet, share a connection and end up with a future on the way!Nikolai Cunningham hasn't returned to Russia since he left as a child, and he's not happy at being forced to do so for an intrusive interview! He sets out to distract the photographer wanting to do a story on his family history so she doesn't uncover the secrets he wants to remain hidden, but along the way, he finds her irresistible!Emma Sanders has no ulterior motives, but Nikolai seems to think the worst of her. She just wants to get some decent pictures to be published ... but spending time with him only leads to the sparks they feel igniting! When he puts her back at arms length and wants her gone, they have no idea they had just made a baby!
