The product works and seems reasonably well made. Unsure how well it will hold up to Florida weather.One Serious flaw. I bought these to automate entry and exit of a driveway gate to contain our Rough Collie pups on our farm. As such, keeping the gates closed is the goal. Unfortunately, on humid mornings dew condenses on the sensor lenses and on several occasions left the gate open until it warms up and the dew evaporates.The only solution I could come up with to insert a Seeduino microprocessor ($6) between the sensors and the Gate controller. A short program on the Seeduino serves two goals. First it integrates the trip signal and makes sure it is stable for 1 full second. This eliminated most false triggers from nocturnal animals or blowing leaves. Second, if a sensor trips and does not release withing 30 seconds after the car has past, it overrides the sensor and closes the gate. Unfortunately, it also prevents the gate from opening until the sensor resets itself.In hindsight I probably should have gone with magnetic sensors that detect the cars. For indoor operation or in climates with low humidity the product is probably fine.

The photo eye and reflector appear to be a high quality. My original factory provided photo eyes were being washed out and did not work in the bright sun light -- I purchased these to have a higher quality unit that would work in bright sun light and these units work very well. I am happy with the functionality -- however they are not intended for and are NOT safe for use with a Garage door.There are some important notes to read before purchasing.1. I missed the bullet on the product page that says "Will work with any pre UL-325 listed Gate Operating devices." UL325 started in March of 2000. So unless your gate opener more than 19 years old, this product is not appear to meet the UL safety requirements for gates.2. The product title states it is a "Garage Door Sensor." When I opened the package, there is a warning page that states it is not suitable for Garage Doors.3. Mounting: The including mounting hardware is only designed to mount in one direction, the back of the product. Other related products can mount in the rear or on either side.4. The packaging was odd. It was just a USPS box with the parts placed in side. Nuts and screws were floating free in the box. It did not appear to be a finished product as much as a grouping of parts put in a box.

This item looks like it was built for controlling an industrial machine. It's well made and feels heavy duty. The ends of the wires on the admittedly short cable (too short for me anyway) are pre-tinned, and clearly labeled. There is a pair of wires for power, then a common, normally opened, and normally close wire for controlling your gate or other project. My gate controller expects a terminal to get shorted to ground when the sensor is interrupted, so the normally open wire was perfect for this case. The LED indicator on the unit makes it easy to see that it is set up correctly and test the "beam breaking" and reflector alignment.The reflectors were high quality, and I have no issues across a 12' driveway in the direct sun (reflector gets the sun, sensor is in the shade of a fence). I used one sensor on each side of the gate to prevent vehicle damage from the auto-close feature.

We purchased an Amazing Beam New Improved Photo Safety Beam (2), Beam Sensors. We received the two items promptly and installed both units. One of units worked perfectly and the other unit proved to be faulty . We contacted the company and they were very prompt in sending us a new unit. We installed the new unit and it worked for six hours then it quit working completely. We contacted the company again and they said they would return 50% of the purchase price we paid. We were told to return the items at our expense and when they received them they would process a refund.We tried to contact the company by e-mail and telephone and both were disconnected. So we were unable to contact them directly. However they did response to our e-mail when we went through amazon. On the amazon web site it said to contact the seller to see the warranty, which we were not able to do because their website does not exist.

Well made and very robust product. Using two of them for automatic driveway gate opener, entrance and exit. Mounted on posts and I added a sheetmetal hood to protect from snow and rain accumulating on the emitter and receiver lenses. Also, boasts a powerful beam that has no problem spanning my 35' wide driveway. Great product...happy customer!

replacement for the failed photo eye on my liftmaster gate opener, nice to have the electrical schematic with both NO and NC terminals. can't imagine an application for which this would not work well, basically ANY power input is allowed as well, clever. i did have to replace the mounting brackets, but that was expected as the unit was not represented as a direct replacement for the existing photo eye, not a problem either.

Every thing came in as expected. The product works well for my intent. Very clear wiring instructions came with all the hardware needed to mount.

Good quality, works as advertised, heavy duty mounting hardware.
