Wallflowers take a Stand- great muder mystery wrapped in a hot romance
What an exciting and emotional romance read. Calla Lily named after a flower, has spent most of her life being raised by her aunts after her parents died. There is a story to her that , I don’t want to give too much away but there is a big back story behind them raising her.Being a young woman, Calla lived a life hidden in the shadows. She chose to stay back and part of the scenery and not be in front and living life. She is a bookworm and has her dream job working for a publishing company. She is so beautiful yet she doesn’t realize it, she is an “original”. Her aunts are lovable and keep her grounded and loved. And they keep trying to set her up with a man, which is a hoot because Calla doesn’t want a man until she sees who the new tenant is. But she doesn’t think she is worthy for him.Devin Hawthorne is the new tenant and boy he is hawt. He moves in next door to Calla , he is 6’3” , is a self-employed Private Investigator, has a sexy southern accent, very good manners , loves motorcycles and has a thing for Calla which at first Calla doesn’t realize.Calla and her friends, Sienna and Poppy, form the Wallflowers (which all started at a company picnic-this is a must read moment in the book). I have to say reading their story in the book is full of humor and hilarity. They are naïve about life and about reality in general but they are darn cute in the scheme of things, that I fell totally in love with them all and got the biggest kick of them whenever they got ideas on how to do things. The gleam in their eyes when a “plan” came up or when they had ideas and were going to do it…yup, things were coming together –OMG…so funny and then when they guys decided to get involved and put a stop to the womens’ plans—You know who Devin is, then we have Nate is his BF from College and owns the bar.And Bo, a local Police Officer working with Devin on the current case. These men are going to get their women and keep them safe.Calla has stumbled onto the came crime that Devin is trying to solve and that puts her in trouble and on top of that, she is trying to determine what it is she wants in life now that she is determined to NOT stand by and life pass her by, her and her GFs. I loved this story, loved how she took life by the lapels and grasped it and pulled hard and decided to go full throttle. The murder mystery that also is in this story was fantastic –the supporting characters’ in this story made this so much more enjoyable and I cannot wait for the next story in the Wallflowers series. My Rating: 4.9 stars *****"I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***

Can I be a Wallflower?
CP Smith did such an amazing job with this novel. I truly enjoyed the antics of the Wallflowers, and I really liked watching the men in the novel try to keep up with them. Although Calla is a self-proclaimed Wallflower, she is not weak. Calla, a.k.a Cali, lost her parents and brother when she was very young, so tried to keep herself away from everyone to protect herself, and protect those she could possibly love. She doesn’t see the beauty she innately has, and it draws Devin in like a moth to a flame. She puts herself in some uncomfortable positions to help others, she reads a lot of historical romance novels, and she makes sure she backs her friends up when they need her. I would love to have a friend like Calla in my life. Not only does es-Atlanta cop Devin have to come to terms with the insta-love he feels for Calla, and the surging of protective alpha in his veins for a woman that loves to make his job difficult, he has to deal with a missing woman, two murders, and someone trying to hurt Cali. And the plot continues to thicken as the novel continues. I’m not sure how it works in real life, but it seemed to play out like a TV show with trying to connect the dots. And HELLO PLOT TWIST at the end! That was a complete shocker, and it just made the novel that much better. The one thing I wish was done differently was to have a better distinction between Calla and Devin’s point of view. The novel starts off with Cali covertly watching *cough*stalking*cough* Devin, and it’s written in first person. Devin’s point of view is written in third-person. Although this was a clever way to do it, it definitely made it a tad bit confusing when there wasn’t a real line break, just an extra space in between the paragraphs. This was just a personal preference though. Once I got into the book more, it was easier to keep up.C.P had me hooked from the first time Calla saw Devin, and then reading how Devin felt when he saw Calla, and I just could not put this novel down. I can’t wait to read Until Susan for the Happily Ever Alpha Kindle Worlds!

One of the best, most accurate Southern reads I've fell in love with!!
One of my absolute favorite authors has done it again! From the opening lines to the very last word, I was beyond hooked. Living in the South, I was IMMEDIATELY able to relate with everything from the food, to the language, to the way the men treated the women. It was so incredibly accurate, every minute detail, that you would think that Ms. Smith lived and breathed the South every day.Calla Lily has had a pretty rough life up until adulthood. Being fortunate enough to live with her two aunts, who completely adore her, after a horrible accident where she lost her parents, has completely changed her outlook on life. Never wanting to take chances in anything, specifically friends and men, has truly left Calla alone. Until one day, when she decided enough was enough, and she was done being a Wallflower.Devin Hawthorne, new to the Savannah area, moves to start a new P.I. practice and just slow down his pace of living. Women, eh, who needs them? He can live with them, or he can live without them! Until he sees this amazing woman with mesmerizing eyes in the store front window that he can't seem to shake. From the very first interaction between Calla and Devin, the explosiveness jumped off the page. The two are meant for each other, and whether they realize it or not, we do. Watching the give and tuck, push and pull, run and hide from these two was thoroughly entertaining. And as always, the suspense in the book was killer, keeping you guessing until the VERY END!!This is absolutely my new favorite series. The set up for the next in the book is PERFECT and I am anxiously awaiting the next in the book. I love watching Ms. Smith's characters fall (because these amazingly sexy alphas all fall hard, and I LOVE that about them!). The bigger they are, the harder they fall!!!

Brilliant read!
This was my first book by this author and it certainly won't be the last. You can't help but get sucked in and it isn't the plot that draws you (even though that it great too) it is the characters. Each one was well developed and completely endearing in their own way. I loved Calla, especially when she went on one of her rants and Devin was alpha perfection. Can't wait for Sienna/Bo and Poppy/Nate stories. Highly recommend.
