12W LED Grow Light Bulb by Vemotix- Plant Light Bulb E26 - Bulbs for Indoor Garden Greenhouse and Hydroponic Plants (Package May Vary)

For years I have purchased a summer hibiscus and a jasmine, here in my Zone 5b. They are large floor plants, 4' and 5' tall. I would bring them inside for the winter. But they never survived; I guess they were weak, so the spider mites took over (not to mention, leaving my floors super sticky until I gave up and trashed the plants). This year, with 3 of these light bulbs shining on the 2 big plants, they are both doing beautifully. I have a timer set, so the plants have 8 hours rest. That may not be enough. I don't know. I haven't changed anything else about my care of them, aside from these lights. The hibiscus is even blooming. I am so happy!!! Be aware, these lights are a colorful magenta color. I keep mine near a window. And the three of them together are quite bright (not that it hurts our eyes, but the color is very pink). Neighbors have asked what the pink light is flooding my backyard. Haha! I bet I don't really need all three lights. But this year I will keep it up and then maybe next year try one light per plant.

I'm pretty new to gardening ... actually I'm getting reacquainted with it. In the days when I used to do indoor gardening, growing lights were an expensive investment, so I depended on natural light. I was very skeptical that such an inexpensive light would be effective. I am really surprised that it is not only effective ... it's amazing.I am starting seedlings for an outdoor vegetable garden and since I put the light up the growth is incredible. My some of my seedlings had just broken through the surface when I put the light in and the first evening when the bulb was the only light they had, their leaves actually reached for the light! The ones right under the light reached up so hard, the leaves were almost touching. The seedlings to the sides of the little bed turned their leaves toward the bulb and they were reaching for the light so hard, the plants were actually leaning towards the bulb. As they've gotten bigger and sturdier, the reaction is a bit more subtle, but is still noticeable, especially at night. But the best effect is how rapidly they are growing. Wholeheartedly recommend this grow light.

DON'T BUY IT! The leaves with the "grow light" shining on gradually turned yellow and died. The leaves without the "grow light" on are doing fine. I would call it "killer light" bulb instead.

I am not so sure about this bulb as I have it about 18 inches from the plant and I see that the Led's shine more like spotlights. One leaf may have a blue spot and another a red spot. Each color from what I understand is supposed to help the plant but when the colors are not mixed but show up in different parts of the plant I am not sure how well this works. Maybe you have to put it several feet from the plant.

The box claims these are good for 30k+ hours, but both lights I ordered died within a week of each other at well under that mark (at most 15k hours). The LEDs are probably still functional, but the problem is the bulbs' circuitry, and since the entire assembly is glued shut, salvage or repair isn't really a good option.I was able to get a moderate amount of usage out of these, but I am disappointed that the longevity was not up to par.

I don't usually review products unless they are very good or very bad. This grow light is very, very good. I bought it a week ago to use over my lemon tree which I needed to bring into the house in early October. At that point it had several very small lemons or the remains of flowering, not yet lemons. I had the tree sitting by a window with direct light, brief direct sunlight. Within a week of using the grow light at night, the existing lemons have grown larger, the unformed lemons are now tiny lemons and the tree is flowering again. Amazing! I am so impressed with the light that I encouraged by daughter-in-law to get one for her lemon tree.

Did not work as well as white full spectrum light and made it hard to see things in the room.
