Pickles and Preserves: a Savor the South cookbook (Savor the South Cookbooks)

Collection of Favorite Recipes
Hmm...I'm glad I bought the kindle edition because this is a pretty short book. If you have a few other preserving and pickling books, then there is not much new here. It seems to be a collection of the author's favorite recipes from other sources. She gives credit for most of the recipes, but I had just been reading the Ball Complete Book of Home Preserving and so when I noticed the recipe for Habanero Gold Pepper Jelly it rang a bell. She attributes this recipe to Rebecca Ashby of Winston-Salem, NC, but it's the same recipe from the Ball book. Anyway, I made the Sweet Pepper Relish from her book last night, so we'll see how it turns out. Overall, not a bad little book if you want an intro to some Southern preserves and pickles, but there are many other comprehensive preserving books out there.

Great ideas!
Love the small size of this info packed book. Nice to have a consolidated reference for lots of kinds of pickling and preserves. Loved the inclusion of some out of the ordinary combination which has my imagination ready for the summer bounty. Good for both the beginner and the experienced canner/pickler/preserver.

No better book on pickling and preserving.
OK, I'm biased. The author is a colleague of mine. Nonetheless, if you're into pickling and preserving, this is THE BOOK you need.
