liked the sound and fit for homebuilt guitar. drilled my pickguard holes because the guitar was a home build so i can not say how they would line up on a replacement body with predrilled holes for the pickguard. pickup ohm resistance was very close to the advertised value of the pickups.12.71k, 7.75k, and 7.72k. better sounding than many of the cheaper loaded pickguards like the one in my squire stratocaster.

There was a weird issue when I first got it where it would still pick up audio with volume all the way down but it seems to have sorted itself out. Sounds decent and easy enough to install (squier strat hardtail)NOTE that the hard tail bridge is wider than the standard trem bridge, I had to sand the bridge cutout a bit to get it to fit.

What a huge improvement on my sound! This is my second set of Alnico 5's and I am very impressed. These pickups blow away the single coils that came with my MIM Fender Strat. For me a loaded pickguard was the was to go. It was very easy to install even though it did not come with any installation instructions or the pickup schematic. I was able to find a installation video from Fender online. The first Alnico 5 purchase was for a preloaded Strat pickguard and after installing it I knew I made the right choice. The sound was so much clearer and you get that classic Strat sound in every pickup configuration (5 way pickup switch). The one drawback for me was when I would play rock style guitar the sound would distort and become too thin, too overdriven. Not enough punch After looking at some videos online about pickups I came across one that showcased the difference in a Humbucker and single coil pickup. After hearing the difference I purchased the Alnico 5 w/Humbucker preloaded pickguard. Once it was installed and I started playing in my normal rock mode I immediately liked the sound. It had a much thicker sound and the distortion was more controlled. No more shrieking highs!! I would recommend the Humbucker pickup option to players who's everyday playing style is Rock (AC/DC, Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, etc.) The clarity of the Alnico 5 three single coil pickup configuration was amazing but the Alnico 5 two single coil and one Humbucker pickup configuration was the right fit for what I play a lot of the time. Now my sound is like the guitars I hear when listening to my favorite rock music.

Added to my Squire 50’s Vibes Strat. Only one hole lined up so I had to plug 10 holes (q-tip shaft and wood glue) and pre drill 10 new ones. Be careful to get the pickup magnets lined up directly under the strings before predrilling .Also had to nip about 1/4” off the hum bucker height adjustment screws because they were bottoming out inside the guitar before the pick guard was flush.Most important thing is that the pickups sound excellent. The selector switch, tone and volume pots seem like better quality than the squire electronics also. Smooth and no crackles. Very much worth the extra effort to get it fitted.. Sounds about as good as a $350 name brand setup.

Good sonic upgrade for a $80 Squier Affinity Strat ICS FROM 2017. See the actual readings for the pickups in the pictures. The holes in the Pickguard did not line up so I used an Allparts one I had laying around.
