STIFF, AWKWARD AT FIRST, BETTER WITH EXPERIENCE USING IT
The first time I tried this, I thought it was very stiff and painful around my forefoot, impossible to pull up out of the stocking, and I had to put so much pulling pressure on my hands that they were painful. I then learned that it works better if you: 1) Pull the whole stocking up over the device, being sure the heel is in center back and the stocking 'toe' is pulled as far up as possible over the device. 2) Don't pull the stocking top OVER the device's top, or the device will get stuck and not pull through. 3) Pull with foot/ankle in a fairly 'straight' position until device slips stocking over your heel and pulls out of stocking, then you can arrange it on your lower leg. It is made of stiff plastic with terry cloth on the inside and a 'slicker' material on the outside. I've considered trying to 're-size' it a bit for my smaller foot/leg by heating the plastic with my hair drier on high, and molding it better against my foot so it conforms to my foot better instead of coming to a 'point' when the three 'fingers' come together around my forefoot. This would probably be more comfortable if the plastic doesn't remain so stiff around the foot. The web straps could be improved on; another brand had cords and foam handles, which might be better for people with hand problems, but you could add a similar foam wrap handle to the straps easily. This does make it MUCH easier to get the stocking over the heel - but it doesn't slip on with such little effort as depicted in other videos. Practice and 'unstiffening' the plastic might make a lot of difference. I'll try it another week before I decide on keeping it or not.

Strap ripped off
Bought this in September 2021and used daily. Second one I’ve purchased so I like the device but today after 8 months of once a day use, one of the straps ripped off. I was really disappointed. It’s not like I spent a million dollars but come on it only does one no tech thing.

I don’t recommend it.
I have used this for less than a week and find it difficult to get it in position to insert my feet. Also the sock slips off before I get it past my heel at times. The material on the back of the device is already starting to dislodge.

Works Well
I have cerebral palsy affecting my legs, and it's always been hard to put on socks, having to cross one leg over the other and straining my lower back to be able to reach to the end of my foot when donning socks. I'm now 59 and after occasionally pulling my back muscles putting on socks, started looking at these. I chose this one for the flexible trough as opposed to the hard/rigid ones so it would not over stretch my socks. I wear white ankle socks with tennis shoes, dress socks with hard shoes. This works well (a bit of trial and error from sock to sock, as looser socks have to be on the aid all the way up to the toe and tighter clingy socks it works better to have the toe hanging loosely off the end so toes don't get jammed too tightly in the end of the sock). Been using it for two weeks. Only concern is straps look like they're the weak spot/where it will break. I wear a mens size 8.5 EEE width shoe, by the way.

Makes an almost impossible task simple!
I am on my 5th or 6th sock assist. This is a good unit, and I couldn’t put my own socks on without it. I would have to ask my wife or someone else to help which is embarrassing. The terry cloth covering is a must to help your sock to stay on the unit while sliding your foot into the tube. One thing I can say, if the straps used to pull the sock on are not nylon don’t buy it! The cotton pulls will rip out after a short time.
