Brilliant - Changed Everything
We were looking for a solution to our cooking woes in our studio holiday apartment in Spain. With considerably limited space in a very compact kitchen, we were limited to a combination oven, which is basically a glorified microwave. This meant we could only cook one thing at a time. Nightmare when you fancy chicken and chips! So we started looking at air fryers. Originally the idea was we'd be able to cook the chips and let the combination oven do the rest. But then we realised that there was such a thing as a double air fryer that you could actually cook meat and other stuff in too.We looked at the Ninja range initially, and were pretty sold on it, until we discovered Moncook. Comparing the features, there wasn't much in it. In fact, the Moncook appeared to have the edge. And the price, at £50 less, was most tempting. So we put our faith in the Moncook, and ordered it for delivery to Spain. Amazingly, this was incredibly easy, and the fryer arrived in just a few days, well packaged, in 100% perfect condition.Setting it all up was a breeze. The usage instructions took a while to master, however. But we persevered and once we'd got our heads around all the functions and using the two zones separately, it was easy. The function that allows you to co-ordinate the timing so that both zones finish at the same time is genius. So far we've enjoyed wonderfully crispy and grease-free air fried chips, grilled chicken and vegetable kebabs, burgers and lovely browned sausages. The drawers are very spacious. One drawer has sufficient capacity for a good 8 skinny sausages, for example. And you can fit two portions of chips in one drawer too (give them a shake though part way through for even cooking). When we next return to Spain, we'll be trying marinated chicken breasts. The drawers are very easy to clean, which is a relief. All in all, we have to say, we would highly recommend the Moncook. It has transformed our culinary lives in Spain, allowing us to cook multiple things at the same time which we couldn't do before. The timing function where you get to co-ordinate both drawers is fantastic, and the fact you can grill as well as fry is most useful. The unit doesn't take up too much space, and is pleasant from an aesthetic point of view.Muchas gracias Moncook!

Some tips on how to get the best...
This is my second review of this product, having had a few weeks of using it. I can honestly say it has totally changed the way I cook and I love it. There is so much hype about air fryers and confusion on what to choose so here are my tips based on my own experience:1. A two drawer air fryer is so much more useful and the Moncook drawers are generous, and all the 'other air fryer assessories' fit in them! You can either use just one drawer or both depending on what you want to cook.2. Roast potatoes. In my last feedback I said I was finding these difficult. Solution is to take out the tray at the bottom and allow the potatoes to cook in the little oil you have added. No need to cook in advance...about 30 minutes and they are crisply and wonderful!3. Invest in the silicone liners as this saves on washing up but they have handles so you can lift food out. I am currently cooking a couple of small dishes in each side with cottage pie....looking good so far!4. The pre set is just a guide and I realised that it didn't really matter which I pressed because I could adjust the temperature and time so easily.5. Finally, there are loads of videos on YouTube explaining recipes etc. Some better than others. My personal favourite are a couple who have no pretences and experiment with the air fryer, slow cooker and a camping stove. They are hilarious but come up with very good tips.I hope this helps.

Double capacity but more than double the uses
Having had an air-fryer for 18 months and worn the non-stick coating away in places, this came after a lot of research and experience. There are other, more expensive, dual basket multi-purpose cookers on the market so I was a little nervous about whether it would live up to expectations. It's only been a week so far but in that time I've don e everything from fries and nuggets to a full roast in a tray. I've tried both Smart and Match cooking along with the regular single basket cook. The first thing I like is the shape of the baskets, the rectangular space is far more practical than round baskets, both in terms of the available and usable space but also in terms of using baking/greaseproof paper. The dual capacity obviously helps keep different foods apart, but have them ready together, eg. nuggets and fries as doing them together can leave covered fries a bit soggy. Operating the Smart and Match settings is both simple and intuitive.Overall it's large, but not as large as you'd expect given the cpacity compared to most single basket machines. The handles genuinely do stay cool. The way that the timer is paused when a basket is removed is a bonus when using a single tray but you should be aware that cooking will continue in the other basket if checking/shaking one basket of a multi or smart cook.If there's one disappointment it has to be the pre-sets. They're a big marketing subject but the reality is that they're dependent on the size/amount you're cooking matching whatever, unspecified, amount it's based on. In practise I found myself choosing a pre-set pretty much at random and then manually editing the temperature and timer. For example there's a pre-set for fries of 18mins at 200C - but is that for a small portion, a medium portion or a basketful? Is that for "fries" or chips? It would be as useable, if not more so, with just a temperature setting and a timer setting alongside the Smart and Match functions, without the row of lights and "functions".Cooking is very consistent and the air circulation works well with a good all-around cooking on sausages, hash browns, fries, battered fish, pork and crackling (slightly on the dry side). Cleaning is also simple with the easy wash-baskets.It's got a lot of work ahead of it but to-date it's been a step up from a single basket fryer with the Smart function and the ability to do different foods simultaneously.
