Making this dish, I was inspired by the early 80's design movement in Italy, such as 'The Memphis Group', which was characterized by ephemeral designs featuring colorful decorations and asymmetrical shapes, sometimes arbitrarily alluding to exotic or earlier styles. This beautiful hand thrown pottery creamer is made with white/beige clay on a pottery wheel. It is decorated by hand and finished with a glossy glaze. The natural color of the glaze can be seen on the inside of the dish - as these were glazed, but not painted. Sauce or gravy? the original styled handle helps for easy pouring of delicious cream, maple syrup or chocolate onto waffles or pancakes. Produced as a limited number marked with my signature and the serial number of the dish. It is part of a limited edition especially crafted and signed by me, Gittit Rad-El (Gigi).
