Right from their arrival, 1 of the 4 didn't function. Luckily, I have 3 kids, so this wasn't a big problem. The other 3 are working and my kids really like them. I knew that I was buying the least expensive ones available, so I am also not bothered by the fact that they're pretty basic. It was a stocking stuffer and this is the type of toy that I expected to only hold their interest for a short time. If you're looking for that, this is a smart way to not spend a lot but still get the fun. If you are hoping for a long lasting digital pet, this may not be the right one. But at less than 1/3 of the price of some of the digital pet toys I saw, it is a great way to enjoy one of these without paying an absurd price.

I bought these as a nostalgia gift for my adult daughter. It comes in a pack of 4, and I activated the battery on 2 of them. Of the 2, one of them wouldn't work. The one that did work has a simple interface which should be easy to control and play, but actually is not.

I felt good about them working because of the plastic pull tab protecting the battery only pulling the tab did nothing. At first I thought all four didn't work and maybe they just needed new batteries but then noticed when I pressed down on one I could see the screen But it isn't consistent.
