Easy to Master Close-Up Mentalism: A Collection of Mental Magic Tricks Used by Professionals (Volume 1)

Old effects repackaged in a shallow, colloquial jargon.
This book does not reveal any mentalist effect that has not already been described in many other books on mentalism or introductory magic - no new "secrets" are revealed. To make matters worse, the author's writing style is glib, shallow, and conversational, typically presenting the effects in the context of trying to impress women, i.e., as ways of flirting or "picking up chicks" in a bar. I'm surprised the author chose that approach in the era of "Me Too."

80% Fluff, not worth the buy
I had great expectations, but unfortunately the author does the same he accuses his fellow mentalists to do. 80% of the book are just filler, self-praise, badmouthing of other practitioners and repetition of stories and general statements. All the real content can be summarized on 30 pages.

Unbelievably BAD....!!!
This is such a poor book. The author boasts about how many "secrets" he is about to reveal to the reader amid promises of greatness and how so many others will hate him for disclosing the closely guarded methods he is now going to share. The contents of this shoddy work are entry-level beginners tricks at best. My guess is that the author simply trawled the Internet for some easy to obtain (old) tricks for free and somehow found a publisher willing enough or naive enough to print this load of Rubbish....! At the time of writing there is another review praising this book, I can only guess that this individual is either the author, someone involved in the promotion of this book or someone who has never read a book on mentalism before.Save your money and find something that's actually WORTH £19.99 guys....!
