Good in principle but...
First of all, I think these cells are a good idea.In practice, they charge in a couple of hours, and yes, they work in the device I use them in in place of disposable D-cell batteries. They didn't arrive pre charged, packaging was ok.Unfortunately, I am not sure these cells are adequate for my use case:I use them in a performance monitor on a fitness machine, which is used daily for a few hours. The monitor is connected via Bluetooth to a mobile phone during that time. Disposable D-Cell batteries last about 12 to 18 months under these conditions. You can also get a reading of the current battery charge level using a function on the monitor. When the batteries are running low, an indicator flashes on the device. It usually takes a couple of weeks from that time until I need to change them. These cells seem to be either ON or OFF, and to power down as soon as they reach a certain discharge level. Additionally, the power level information displayed on my performance monitor is incorrect: it remains at 100% until the monitor either won't power up or will all of a sudden power down in the middle of a workout... not good. No one logging their progress likes to lose data...So, basically, for reliable use in my case, I would need to proactively take the batteries out of the monitor every couple of weeks to give them some charge, which is far from ideal. The concept surely needs a bit of tweaking... At least as far as the charge information is concerned...1 star for battery life compared to disposables1 star for value for money: It would take over four years to recoup the cost of disposable batteries, and I am not sure the batteries would still work after many charging cycle.3 star for longevity based on the above.

Good company solved my issue
I bought 4 of these, worked ok the first 2 times. I tried to use them again this year, nothing.Shame as they’re a great idea, and to be fair to the seller he refunded me immediately after I contacted them.

+ve knob on the battery is not standard size. Does not work in my two Mattel toys. Return cost £26
I bought four 4 of these batteries at £40, to use in 1.5V toys. Previous 1.2V Type D rechargeable batteries from EBL fitted fine and I wanted the 1.5V to give the required power (as non rechargeable batteries would). I have previously bought AA Li-ion batteries to do this on other products successfully. These batteries charged in 6-10 hours on USB and tested at 1.5v correctly. However, the positive knob on each battery is smaller than a standard type D battery and so, even though the shape of the battery is almost identical to a standard type D battery, it will not work in devices that have spacers holding the batteries evenly apart, as the positive knob will not contact correctly. To top it off, returning batteries in the UK cannot be done by Royal Mail, UPS, Parcelforce. I used Fedex, at a cost of £26. Amazon said they may refund up to £4.75 for the return delivery.I saw negative postings about this battery, but thought Amazon products are usually reliable and I could always easily return. I would encourage Amazon to stop selling these batteries until they are able to cover the returns cost in the usual manner. This battery has known issues and hiding behind the fact that it's difficult to return, and so there aren't many returns, is wrong.

I’ve left 3 stars for how quickly the item was replaced.
Very attentive customer service as had a problem with initial order . Unfortunately had to change rating to 3 as second batch charged fine but when used in 6 cell maglite there was a squeaking noise and the positive terminals were again red hot . It’s a great idea but perhaps needs to be tested more in all applications. But definitely not suitable fir 6 cell maglite unfortunately.5 stars for customer care but 1 for product .
