I disagree that it misses, at $29.99 it is a great design and product.
NOTE: I STATE IN THE VIDEO I PAID $19.99, I PAID $29.99 AND IT IS STILL WORTH IT.I am working on some tutorial videos and I was looking for a way to mount my iPad as either a second camera or a primary if I am shooting a video requiring my camera.Looking for in purchase:-Tripod compatible-Sturdy-Value-Well constructedDesign: The design of the Ulanzi is solid and sturdy. It is a heavy-duty metal and the mechanics of it are very simple, it is a sliding rail system limiting the moving parts that could break or “gum” up. The locking system is again a simple screw design limiting what could break within the mount itself. There is a shoe slot, no power to it, that could hold a microphone or a light cube. You can see in the photos my Rode Mic Pro easily works in the mount. And on the bottom, there is a grooved tripod mount plate or a screw hole to attach the tripod mount plate from yours.Issues: I did not feel that the molded tripod plate on the mount itself fit securely or properly, I would have had concern about leaving the iPad on the tripod attached by the molded mount.Positives:++Construction++Design++Price++FeaturesNegatives:--The molded mounting plate did not fit my tripod well (but this is not a reason to dock it as I can attach the tripod plate to the mount)Final Thoughts: An unbelievable product for the iPad that can allow a quick and easy second system (or a primary if needed) for a videographer or photographer. This is really an underrated item.Would I recommend: Absolutely. I put mine to heavy use and it holds up great I have zero issues recommending.

Nice Holder
I needed an iPad holder that would hold an iPad Pro 12.9 inch in a case with the pencil along the edge. Most clamps will not do that. This one did. So far, it seems like it is going to work out well. The construction is very sturdy, and it is minimal and attractive

Can fit an MS Surface Pro 7..if only it was spring loaded
Some pretty cool features: Male 1/4 thread at top, female at the bottom, so you can mount this on a tripod and a camera or microphone. Also has a cold shoe slot for more items. Aluminum build feels sturdy.Only drawback for this item is that the clamp slides upward, but is not springloaded to give some grip to the device you have mounted.I am using it for my Surface Pro 7 and while it is sturdy, the rubber grips don't seem to hold very well, and is not helped by the lack of tension. Some tablet holders I have seen and bought all have some pretty strong spring tension to ensure the device won't just fall off, especially if the mount starts to tilt.Overall however really good for the price.
