Featherland Paradise Systems Large Foraging Treat Box, 4-Inch W by 4-Inch L

Outstanding foraging toy. My African Grey loves the large one; usually goes through a couple a week. It's one of the few foraging toys he'll actually use. My Senegal loves the small size. I like to make sure they have ways to stay busy while I'm at work, and this definitely helps. It also reduces the time they spend tearing up the liner at the bottom of the cages, which I'd rather they not do.Reading some of the negative reviews, I think some people who were disappointed may not have purchased the base. These cardboard packs are just the refills to go on top of the base, and are held there by a metal rod and acrylic clasp. I suppose you can use it without a base, but that would account for treats falling to the cage floor when your bird rips the cardboard apart. I got mine with an acrylic base that mounts to the cage with a metal rod, and that catches most of the treats as the cardboard is ripped apart. If you decide to try this product, do get the base - both you and the bird will be happier.

Very disappointed. Not appropriate for large birds at all. Blue "stick" that slides through middle of the box to hold it together and provide a point from which to hang it broke with a single "munch" from my bird. Also the compartments inside the box set up to hold treats were much too small for a "large" bird. Overall, 95% of the items I order from Amazon billed for "large birds" have to be modified once I get them because they are not strong enough for my bird (green wing macaw). Items with chains are the worst.

I got this for my macaw mostly because it said "large." The item comes with I think 5 of them in one package. So you have a few to kinda play with. I gave it 3 stars because my bird did like it. I however did not. Yes, it's all natural and bird safe. However, it's a pain to put together. I didn't see any instructions, which made it a bit confusing. (You have to put a square part into a hexagonal part) the paper also doesn't stay closed when after you make the toy. So putting things into all the little holes meant that the first several attempts fell out. because the top AND bottom are so loose, my bird would pick at a side and everything would fall out. This toy is probably best for a conure our cockateal.

Great foraging product. Came very quickly. Good quality and my parrot loves it. Helps with plucking and other destructive behaviour in birds.

It did not work out well for our African Gray. It was difficult to get to the treats and once she figured it out they all fell out on the floor as she was ripping the box apart and she could not even reap the benefit of her hard work.
