Recommended, but it is a cloyingly sweet taste.
Used before surgery and really helped with recovery. Mostly sugar, but it works. Can drink up to 2 hours b4 surgery, so you are not so dehydrated.

I think it worked.
I had a colon surgery. The doctor let me drink clear fluids right until I checked in. I followed the included directions. Surgery went perfect.
