These surrounds are thinner than the original Boston VR975 parts, but work just fine.
When I first opened the packaging, it appeared that only one surround was included. I sent a problem inquiry to the seller - they got back to me within hours letting me know that they are very thin and sometimes stick together and appear to be only one - they were correct! I installed the one where I had an immediate need, and it works great - no distortion. I used this kit for a Boston Acoustics VR975 woofer - these replacement foams are about half as thick as the originals, but that doesn't seem to make any difference in sound - I hear no difference between the other speaker with the original foam and this one. One other thing - the outer edge of these is slightly oversize to fit within the VR975 frame - as described in the instructions for cases like this, I had to trim about 1/16" off the outer edge all the way around in order for the new surround to fit flat into the speaker metal frame - just go slow and be careful, and it will turn out fine. Without using any glue first, I tried to get things centered without trimming the outer edge - didn't seem like it would work out well - it wanted to sit too high and would have made it difficult to center the cone and get it stuck into the glue. After trimming to fit, it sat right in place and was easy to get things centered to avoid rubbing in the voice coil. Good product, and good seller!

Simply Speaking, this works.....with caveats
Purchased for 1990, Boston Acoustic, T930 Woofer repair. I read the reviews, watched their video (and others) and felt confident that this would repair my speakers. The repair kit did as promised, but not as smoothly, or as neatly as I had hoped. Before the kit got here I disassembled the woofers with the intent to have them cleaned and ready for the new foam when it arrived. For background, I'm detail oriented. Old school. Glue doesn't adhere well to old glue. It's gotta go. Using 70% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol, paper towels, Q-tips and a fresh razor knife, it took close to 3 hours to remove all the foam and glue from one speaker and its frame. In the process, I ended up with some speaker housing scratches.I called Simply Speaker to see if there were a quicker way to prep the speaker without doing cosmetic damage. Tip 1: they don't have a dedicated customer service menu option. They want you to e-mail them. Press the option for new orders and you'll get a live voice. When asked about the glue, the tech said only the foam needed to be removed. Leaving the old glue would not affect the installation.Speaker 2 went much smoother and was done in about an hour. Tip 2: I still removed all of the glue, but this time I used 91% Isopropyl Rubbing Alcohol. The kit arrived in an undamaged box. When opened, I found the speaker foam crushed, apparently as the glue was simply thrown into the box and, I surmise, smashed the foam while in transit. This could have been avoided had the glue been taped to the bottom of the box. The crushed foam had created a memory that I wasn't sure would come out. I placed the foam, upside down, in the speaker enclosure overnight (it was a perfect fit) to see if that would remove some of the kinks. After 24 hours, most, but not all, of the foam had resumed it's normal shape. Tip 3: The foam is on the thin side. While it worked in the end, it wasn't as nearly as heavy duty as the OEM BA foam.Contrary to what I had been told by the tech, the instructions included in the box clearly stated to remove all of the old foam and glue from the speaker and housing. Watching the video(s) leaves you with the impression that you have ample time to apply the glue, position the foam on the speaker and have time to work it until it sets. The glue I received allowed me no time. Before I was half done applying glue to the speaker it had already set where I started. I had to use apply glue to the speaker twice. When placed into position, it immediately stuck with no time to position the foam or work it.Because all the kinks from the shipping damage weren't worked out, the foam didn't fit flush. I was fortunate that I could remove the foam without tearing it. I then reapplied more glue and this time it worked. It's wasn't pretty, you can see the glue on the speaker, but it's firmly attached and will be hidden by the speaker grill. Maybe I had old glue. I've never used a glue before, not even a contact cement or spray, that set this quickly. Tip 4: When applying the glue, work very, very fast. My speakers absorbed some of glue when applied. No doubt, this contributed to the difficult installation. You can see some of the excess glue and foam "bubble" in the photos.Verdict: Product works as advertised. The speakers are repaired and sound great. Points lost for foam thickness, avoidable damage to foam in shipment, conflicting tech vs written instructions, and possibly old glue. It ain't pretty but it works. I'd use it again.

Review Change
I initially gave a 1 star review before contacting the seller and don't see it listed. The sellar sent me another surround free and I had a better outcome with it. But I still feel the glue dries too fast. Maybe the tube of glue I got was an aberration. I did have to trim off a full half of the outer flange to get the initial loose fit. In addition, I found that applying the glue to the speaker cone was faster than applying it to the surround itself which made centering a little easier for the first part of the process. Since I did 2 speakers originally I may still have to do another one again. I am inclined to use a different glue and surround the next time from a different supplier. It still was worthwhile doing the repair since I did save 2 Boston SW10s from the scrap heap.

I'm very happy with this
I'm very happy with this. The surround on my BA subwoofer was pretty well shot (either due to its 15+ year ave or a new curious cat). The instructions were clear, and there was ample quantity of adhesive. The only problem was i didnt realize there were actually TWO new foam rings in the package. As i was gluing, i started to notive an odd "delamination" occuring :-D which i soon figured out was the two rings stuck together. I peeked the top one away and cleaned up. A word of caution: like model cement, the adhesive melts the foam, so the less time you tinker with getting it in place, the cleaner and better the result.Anyway, it's all glued and set and my sub sounds punchy once again!
