This thing is stupid fast on 2s lipo
Got this on sale for 188 dollars. I must say it is way better than expected and is stupid fast on 2s lipo. It does have a little bit of coughing at low speed but nothing to hateful. I have been hard on it and it has held up great, rolled, hit trees l, and flew into a car at high speed and no damage. Is it the best in class probably not but as an entry level hobby grade it is a fantastic and wont break the bank.

Just Dont...
We've had plenty of RC cars before in the "hobby grade" level. When looking for a budget 4wd truck, we thought this might work. On the first run, the chassis broke where the front bumper mounts. After the new chassis, we've had to replace axles, bumpers, hubs, hex(s), wheels/tires, steering servo, rear differential, etc.. There's almost as much in replacement parts as what was paid for the truck and we haven’t had it for 2 months. If you’re looking for a budget ride, spend a few more bucks and get something like Traxxas or Arrma.

Read this to fix durability issues
Bought my volcano over 5 years ago so it would be 1st gen. My first hobby grade rc and I’m a terrible driver so I crashed and fixed every single part on it many, many, many times. This doesn’t look more than a frame difference, all the other weaknesses remain. First replace the bumpers. Any crash with the current brace system not only destroys it, also sends force into the differential and shock towers. I put T-bone racing bumpers (like a curved skid plate) on 4 years ago and never touched them again. Any part you replace with aluminum will add durability but won’t flex before break like plastic and adds weight. Mixing plastic and metal can cause breakage if the plastic supporting parts take impact force from metal. Weakest point is the wheel axles. Discovered using hub extenders makes them almost bulletproof but never tried with stock plastic hub carriers, only metal. Steering servo will eventually need replaced but they are cheap and don’t be afraid to increase kg force. Just keep servo saver adjusted loose. 3S is too fast for this truck. Clocked at 60mph when new, recently GPS’d at 52mph with all metal truck. Mistakes are very expensive at those speeds. Runs about 30mph on 2S. This is beginner hobby grade so don’t cry the first time it breaks. That’s half the fun is learning and self engineering improvements and fixes. And keep spare parts on hand in an organized tackle or compartmented small parts box to avoid frustration and down time.

Not very durable.
Purchased for my son, axle broke first time out with in 10 minutes of running it. After that was repaired next time out screw ripped out of front steering knuckle. Overall not bad for a beginner, but you better be prepared to upgrade the cheap plastic.

It's a BEAST!! Awesome RC and would buy again!
This is by far the best RC car in its price range, I have other name brand and amazon type rc brands and for the price you cannot go wrong. I run it almost weekly and whenever I can and it's unique metal sound when you drive it. it's just too cool!Pros: Price , great value and superior quality compared to others in the same price range. Looks, this thing looks good just standing still. Brushless Power that supports 3s , but plenty fast with 2s and almost too much on 3s. Does well in all types of terrain but it really shines on the pavement. Lots of upgrade parts available. Easy to find parts for repairs.Cons: Low ground clearance, only 2 colors copper and blue. The receiver is not the best but it works just fine for the price. I have seen others complain about breaking parts, but that is part of the hobby breaking stuff and fixing it. When you are doing high jumps and high speed runs of 40+ easy with this thing, something is going to break.

Out of the box problems
After the 1st dive in the new Redcat and it leaked grease out of the front differential. No jumping or bashing.Just a stroll around the yard.Hoping it just some extra bearing grease but it's not looking good.I own many RC of different makers and this is a 1st for me on day one.

Fresh out of the box. Won't even turn on!
The media could not be loaded. I've been doing RC since the 1970s. I was shocked to see that brand new fresh out of the box it wouldn't even turn on!
