I just bought this umbrella hat with the added ventilation cover on the top. Having an over abundance of D3 in me, i must protect myself from the sun and the heat. I work outside in the summer. It definitely gives me Protection and covers my shoulders. The silver coating actually deflects the sun's rays and heat. It is easy to open and close once you get the hang of it. When watching a review on this hat, they did a temperature review and the result was about a 30° cooler difference. I actually felt a difference in the temperature myself. The only drawback is that it does not do well on a breezy day. I live in North Dakota and its almost always some type of breeze outside. The wind must be less than 10 mph for the hat to feel secure on your head. It's worth the price

My mother and I use these when weeding in our garden. It's nice to not have to retreat when a rain cloud rolls over. When the conditions are too wet to cut grass, we can always catch up on weeding with these umbrella hats. They are a great addition to a hunting pack too, but keep the color in mind.

Hands free umbrella is light weight and packable for hiking. I used it during a hot sunny day. The silver color reflected the sun. Worked great. Also used it during heavy rain with slight wind. The umbrella needs to be secured so wind doesn't blow it off your head.
