I got these knives a few days ago and I'm very pleased with them, though there a couple of things that could be better.They arrived sharp but not insanely so which I like.. They cut through a tomato like it isn't even there to give you an idea. They are balanced and fit well in the hand.What isn't immediately clear from the photos is they are solid metal.. The handles too. They have some sort of paint or transfer applied to make them look like wood. On my set there were a couple of chips in this paint already when I unboxed them and I can see this getting worse with age and use.. This doesn't bother me but it might bother others.The other slight negative is the knife block. It's a very dark wood with a grooved surface so even in a well lit kitchen it's not always easy to see the slot for the knife... It would have been so much better if the edges of the holes were wider and chamfered.Overall, despite the criticisms I'm very pleased with these

Great knives, however, after only 1 week of owning them the ‘wood effect’ has come away from the handle, it looks really poor.. these have only been hand washed and I will be contacting the seller.Update - 29th June, wood effect is coming off the knives really quickly, knives always hand cleaned and not bundled in with other items, really poor quality of finish.. contacted seller but no response at all, considering returning item if no contact... would not buy again!!

I loved these knives when they arrived, cut brilliantly and look very professional on the counter top. However after one wash I have noticed rust spots on the carving knife which surely should not happen. I will be asking for a replacement. But will this happen to all the knives??
