Excellent Customer Service!
Okay. So I purchased these poles almost two years ago. I was preparing for a trip to Mount Whitney and was replacing some older gear. I was looking to upgrade and go lighter and decided on carbon fiber poles. I use poles a lot in steep country going downhill to take some pressure off of my knees and low back. They definitely help with balance, as well. Many of the other poles I looked at were expensive. Worth it I'm sure, but i was looking to make my money go further as I was upgrading other gear too.The Montem poles were almost half the price of others I looked at. I'd never heard of the name, but figured I would try them out. I took them on a number of preparatory trips and they worked well. They seemed sturdy and were easy to adjust on the go. The cork handles were nice too as they would absorb sweat and did not get slippery or sticky as the handles on my older, aluminum poles did.Last weekend I brought them to Mount Baldy. While crossing a section of trail comprised of jagged rock, one pole got stuck between the rocks. As I wrestled it free, the tip snapped off. I was barely 3 miles into an 11 mile hike. I would need the support of both poles. I was able to MacGyver a fix by wedging a small diameter, sturdy stick into the end. I completed the hike without incident and resolved to contact the company the next day.To be clear, the pole breaking was not a fault in construction or design. I believe it broke due to my haste in trying to continue forward and my over aggressive manner in which I wrenched it free from the rocks. Had I paused and carefully removed it, I don't think it would have broken. Anyway, my hope was to at least purchase just the broken section. I still had one good pole. The broken section could be removed and a new one inserted in its place. I even offered to pay for just one pole. That was not an option, they said. After a bit of back and forth with customer service via email, they finally offered to send me a new pair of poles. Again, my original purchase was almost two years ago. I think the warranty is only for 1 year. If you are uncertain about the quality of these poles, my advice is to try them out. For the price, I think it is worth the chance. Hopefully, my testament to their customer service will help you make your decision.

Great Product!
I used these over the weekend. They are super lightweight! The set up is seamless. You can adjust the sticks to your preferred length. The two zoned set up is super clutch. A couple of hikers even complimented my sticks because theirs were a set length. I even tested the material and durability by applying excessive weight to it on my downhill hike. At one point I even used it to swipe at branches to make sure it would not break. I am extremely pleased with the poles. Definitely recommend.

5 stars for customer support
Nice lightweight trekking poles. Have bought 2 pairs of these 1 for wife and 1 for me. Easy to adjust. We had a issue with 1 of my wife's but Sheldon in customer service took care of it very quickly. 5 stars for customer support and the poles. Montem stands behind their products. We use these for hiking. Also skiing on cold days the carbon fiber is warmer to hold than aluminum on the lift.

Nice, Nice Poles
I've purchased several sets of poles. I'd been looking for a set that supported me particularly during downhills. I was also hoping to find a set that was sufficiently lightweight that I wouldn't mind carrying them when I wasn't using them. Today, I'm glad I ran across a review that recommended these Montem poles. They are amazingly light and yet remain sturdy. I'm completely impressed!!!

Very reliable
I bought these and used them for a recent trip to Maine for both a easy flat route and a relatively difficult hike. Compared to other hiking poles I've used before, the bottom soles of these poles are really good in terms of grip and stability. Super light and good material on the hand grip, easy setup and overall no issues with the product. I am just recovering from a ankle sprain, and these were perfect in supporting me throughout the woods/mountains
