They did the job!
They come without instructions, but after putting 24 together I was happy with them. I had a show of my art, framed 24"x18", and they worked just fine. Here's how I put them together: 1) lay out the 3 legs, bead side up, with the back leg in the middle. The bead side is the front. The back leg's bolt hole is different from the other two. 2) put the short bolt through the 3 legs and tighten the washer and wing nut on it but not too much. 3) Screw the little eye at the end of the chain into the pre-fab hole in the middle leg. Look for it - it's there. 4) Put the long bolt through the wood piece with the lip first, then the remaining piece. 5) put the circlet at the other end of the chain over the back end of the long bolt, followed by the washer and the other wing nut, and tighten just a turn or two. 6) Slide the two pieces you just connected over the front legs, lip piece to the front. 7) adjust till all the pieces are in the right place, then tighten both bolts.Good luck, they work fine once you figure it out!

Bought these to start having our own girls night wine and painting and they work great! We've had some pretty large canvases on them and they're awesome! No instructions, but they're easy to put together. Only downside is that the top can sometimes push into the canvas (probably because we're using large canvases).

With some effort you can make these work, for how long I'm not sure. What you are getting is essentially a box of sticks, no instructions, no pictures and you will look at the ones on the website to make sure you are getting assembly correct. That said, if you have ANY skills at all with simple tooks, you can go down to Home Depot and buy some wood and make much sturdier, easier to use versions for about the same cost. The chain on these is pitiful and the design has some serious flaws. I'll use them, won't buy them again.

black art easels
I purchased these to put some smaller framed pieces on for display. I am all about "some assembly" BUT... You MUST included directions. Further, these are very awkward once put together and NOT sturdy. They are solidly black with brass(ish) bolts. NO chain is included, even tho it is shown in the photos. The rabbit ear bolts just look cheap. Now, on the "pro" side, they are adjustable in that you can set the base bar pretty much anywhere you can get the tripod to stand and tighten the bolt for some security. But in all honesty, it doesn't hold much - my pieces are framed and have glass so they are on the heavier side. For me, these are just junk.

12 inch easels are too small for a 16 x 20 canvas
received my paint easels for a paint night gathering andthese easels are very well made and are gorgeous . i ordered the black ones and bought a set 2 so i have a total of 8 (which each package comes in a set of 4). The 12 inch easels are ONLY meant for small canvases.and display small pictures.Cons:They DO NOT come with assemble instructions ( had to go back to a picture on amazon for a reference picture to put these together)They are too SMALL for a 16 x 20 canvasThey are WAY too light in weightThe reason for 4 stars is because i was hosting a paint night with some friends and unfortunately i could not use these because they were WAY TOO SMALL for my canvases and had to have my guest paint without easels and use the table for flat painting so my guest had too stand up the entire time to paint to actually see their canvasses. so I will be returning these easels for a refund for something bigger and heavier. hopefully my refund is fast .

nice but a bit hard to assemble
This is not an expensive product and thus it is not the easiest to assemble because the pieces keep moving as you work with them. That said, when it is assembled, it works well and well worth the money. I stained it before I assembled it and it looks really nice. It is a good product for the money but if you are not handy, you might want to buy an easel that is already assembled.

U.S. Art Supply 12'
For real, I really didn't mean to order these, cause when I got them they were so small, so I didn't pay attention , BUT when I started putting them to together, I fell in love with them. And I noticed that I had some canvas that fit right on them with no problems. So, I didn't mean to order them, but I'm glad I did cause I can use these better than the ones I was really looking for. So, when I get more people to paint, I might have to order more of these.

Worked with an 8x10 canvas
These were used for a group painting using 8x10 canvases. They worked well. They were a bit of a challenge to put together the first time. There were no instructions so it took some time to put them together how I thought they should go. I had to be careful to not over tighten them because they split easily. They dismantle and store in a gallon ziplock bag for smaller storage. If I need more, I would consider buying these again.
