Best for the Price, only one real Con.
I compared tons of these log splitters, and took a risk on this one (with so few reviews), but it is awesome for these reasons:1. It does not have hollow metal tubes…it is solid steel2. It has a wider top to let me cut plenty of sizes of wood.3. (Super important to me) It’s blade wedge width makes its easy to split, because its not so narrow it gets stuck, and not so thick that it doesn’t cut4. It’s got great welds, and hopefully won’t break offCons…5. It does need bolted down (same as every other splitter, in fact the base is actually wider than most others).6. It isn’t super tall…but it works fine for what I need.7. The only REAL major con, is that I already dented the blade with my hammer, because the X style bracing allows bigger wood to be cut, but it also allows your hammer to accidentally dent the blade…or at least it does for my careless personality.Hope this helps…I will have to go back and take a picture some sunny day.

Sturdy but not quite stable.
The base isn't quite level but otherwise it feels bulletproof. I just need to find a stump to mount it to and it will be rock solid. Logs split easily into smaller kindling.

Opening is a little small only takes smaller logs but very sturdy and heavy
