I actually received an original Vava branded unit even though I ordered thr Hipp unit. So I think the Hipp branded unit is exactly the same. I had one of these for 2.5 years and my only complaint is that the plastic became brittle over time so the kickstand wold no longer lock in place and the antenna broke off after it fell over and dropped off a side table. It has a much larger battery than other monitors so you don't get anxiety leaving it unplugged. It can even safely be left unplugged overnight (it will alarm to tell you when the battery is low if you are worried). The night vision is lower resolution than the 1080p Vtech unit I tried, but the Vava/Hipp unit never loses it connection or has a low battery (unlike the Vtech unit) which is way more important.This camera doesn't have 1080p or wifi but it is rock solid reliable. I would highly recommend.

We had one before and loved it. The battery isn’t as good as the old one and this one now makes a very loud buzzing sound. Disappointed that it didn’t even last 6 months and past the return date. It is not usable anymore with this annoying sound.

I am seriously impressed with this baby monitor and its the best one Ive come across in terms of overall quality and functions.PROS:- Packaging is really nice and well thought out, and shipped to my door in 4 days.- The overall physical quality of the camera and baby monitor is amazing. Ive seen so many CHEAP cameras and monitors, its nice to see HiPP prioritize quality in this regard. Holding it in my hand I can feel the weight and build quality, its not heavy, but lighter weight yet sturdy.- The 5 inch monitor screen is more than plenty big to see whats going on, and clearly at that. It doesnt provide movie quality pictures, but the 720p is perfect for a camera like this. You can easily see their breathing, facial expressions and such.- The controlability of the camera on the monitor is seamless. Connection is lightning quick and theres quite literally no lag.- The audio on the camera is quite good, you can clearly hear even the faintest things such as breathing or the slightest movement (and our camera is still a few feet away).- Battery power is good, we usually we usually end up charging it every 2 days with continual use.CONS:- None at this time.Is it worth the money? At time of this review the cost is $199, and you dont always get what you pay for, but here you do. Skip the CHEAP baby monitors and invest in this one, its worth every penny!
