Q: Can these be added after construction of the Lego set, or do they need to be installed during construction?

You add after construction is complete. Instructions show specific parts you remove to install and then re assemble. Logic will tell you to install as you construct, this would make it more difficult being that you won't know when and where to install lights throughout construction process. It is actually very easy after you get going.

Q: Does this have sound, if not is there an option to purchase one with sound?

As far as I'm aware all of the kits are lights only.

Q: Is there a way to have the front lights white? I like this set but multi color lights are inaccurate.

You could always take the DIY approach to this. Most manufactures have separate lights you can buy and use instead of the multicolor string that comes with it. I understand when you say accurate, however, really doesn't bother me much once it's all lit up.
