I normally buy candles from target that has the crackling wood. These are not similar. Although they give the same affect, they do not sound the same or even crackle at all. They do burn easily and does work, but do not come in with the expectations of other crackling candles.

They are thin and less that I expected but they are 100 and they are good for beginners

If you make candles with essential oils this will not work! They act like a sponge and burn out almost immediately. 3 candles useless having used wood wicks.

Soaked wicks in oil for better burn as instructed for diy candle making. Once finished setting and drying after 3+ days the wicks barely burned and definitely don’t make that crackling sound. Wished I would have used 2 wicks per metal holder. It did stand up nicely and the length was perfect for my project. No adhesive included to make sure wicks don’t move during pouring but it wasn’t mentioned in description anyways.

I've been using these for several months in some homemade candles, using either paraffin or soy. I don't think these wooden wicks are that good. For one I have never heard them crackle, which is what they're labeled as. I never view a vendor positively when they advertise a product to do something specific, and it doesn't meet that expectation. Secondly, they struggle to stay lit. I've had to relight my candles with these multiple times and I just never have to do that with cotton wicks. I wouldn't personally recommend these overall. The only positive note is they were one of the cheapest wood wicks on Amazon.

Love the crackle of these wicks. Make sure you use more than 1 wood stick for the candles. We used soy wax and it would not light. Lucky the wax didn’t set so we added more.
