Does what it says on the tin, and then some.
As a miniatures painter who has worked chiefly with Citadel range paints, transitioning to the more watery Tamiya can be difficult - more layers and skill are expected, and some of the paints can come out streaky and lumpy in a way that Citadel range rarely do. But I must commend this humble pot of Tamiya Dark Grey - it applies in a smooth, even manner without streaking or pooling, and the thinness of the mix means it does not choke cracks and notches in a figurine, meaning you never lose detail of the object you are painting. In these trying times, with Games Workshop closed and a malevolent virus stalking abroad, if you are being forced to turn to new modelling paints I can assure you that placing faith in Tamiya Dark Grey will not be faith misplaced.

Great finish once you've got it where you want it, but it tends to be on the thin side, so multiple coats are required
