If you are looking for a homedepot safe but prettier, this is it. If you are looking for Casoro luxury and Oceans 11 level security then you’ll be disappointed. That thing that looks like a gun safe inside another safe die lock, and the door ( along with every other shines bit) is made of plastic - and we aren’t taking car grade, Tonka toy plastic, we are talking it bends and a cold could break it B in half plastic. The directions appear to be a direct translation from Chinese and are difficult to sort out. Also, to open it with the key you must use two keys and turn them simultaneously. No where is this written ( thank goodness for all of those movies where it takes two keys to launch the nuclear weapons). Both of the key holes is hidden behind a silver plastic bit on the door. I’m a bit concerned about the handle over time, since it too is made of plastic. It passes the “ prettier than a gas’s station safe” test, but not much more. On the hole I would say it is worth the $370- $399 I paid for it, but not a dime more.

I should have read reviews before I bought this. My bad. First of all, it arrived in this heavy duty carton, which is nice, but the carton inside and out was filthy and covered (inside and out) with some sort of disgusting dusty crap. Once I got it open and saw the safe, it was nicely wrapped in plastic but it was still filthy. I cleaned it up and noticed how cheaply made it is, all plastic. I opened it up and took out the instructions. What a joke those are. They are VERY poorly written. Obviously someone in China wrote them and is not good at English as a second language.. Here is an example (exact quote) a, Press “#”, input right 1-nos user code, press “#”, display “OPEN”, solenoid work 6s , you need press “*” enter to change user code in 5S, display “—“, it shows you can set user code…..”. I mean it is nonsensical at best. I tried several times to do this and none of it works. So I wrote to the customer service email that they gave me on the instructions and it’s been three days with no reply whatsoever. If it wasn’t such a hassle to send it back I would, but the filthy box had to be cut open to get the safe out, there’s no chance of repackaging it effectively. My advice, pass on this safe. Don’t make the mistake I did.
