Lightweight, not heavy duty
This is the second Schwinn helmet we’ve tried. We weren’t sure whether the larger size would mean a difference in design or build quality, but it doesn’t. It’s still a lightweight and basic affair which will reduce the amount of pain from natural, everyday kids-falling-off-bikes incidents, but which shouldn’t be confused for a ‘road-safe’ protective helmet that would withstand a more serious impact.Unfortunately the sizing wasn’t quite right for our young daughter so although she was smitten with the ‘unicorns’ (most of them don’t have horns, so aren’t those ones just horses?), sadly she couldn’t keep it on her head for more than a few minutes without complaining of headaches, about which there’s not much we could do and while I’d like to make more comment about the fit, I can’t.Don’t over-estimate how serious a bit of kit this is- if you’re planning to take your child on proper roads, you should absolutely invest in stronger duty, higher grade protective headgear. But if your kid is only going to be meandering along your patio or driveway learning how to ride their bike and you want them not to start bawling every time they fall off, then that’s what this helmet is good for.

safety had which is nicely decorated with unicorns.
Schwinn Girls' Infant Unicorn Helmet, Pink/Blue, Small is a really cute helmet which will protect your small child's head while looking cute. The helmet is very light and can be securely fitted on the child's head by the simple rotation of a small wheel which is placed at the back of the helmet.I like the fact it is so light as other helmets we had purchased in the past, the youngest child did not like wearing it as it was cumbersome and very uncomfortable for her personally. So far I have had no complaints about the Schwinn Girls' Infant Unicorn Helmet, Pink/Blue, Small and as it keeps her little head safe and sound, well protected if God forbid she does have a fall. Our little girl loved the decorative value of the helmet and was showing it off to all those she met.A very cute good looking helmet which I am happy to recommend with the added advantage it sits comfortably and very lightweight yet is still protecting the child.Happy to recommend.

TOUCAN YOU CAN
The Jungle infant helmet is a really cute but functional first helmet featuring bold and colourful pictures of toucans, crocodiles and giraffes. It comes with a little leaflet explaining how the helmet should sit and custom fitting which on a 1 year old is not the easiest thing to do but important to do each time. The straps are quite thick so not the easiest to adjust. Although it does have an age on it, it should really be bought on the size (cm) measurement instead although this fits my 15 month old perfectly – he would rather look at it though than keep it on. It’s really lightweight (although will probably still feel heavy to them) but it seems quite durable and as long as it hasn’t had any knocks, they just recommend checking it over after 3 years to ensure there’s no damage if it is going to be used between siblings etc. Overall he’s very happy with it, I’m happy he’s safe and I’d consider buying from the brand again when it comes to needing a bigger size.

Jungle is Massive
When do you start putting your kid on a bike? For peace of mind as late as possible, but even the tiniest of toddlers can want a go, especially if they have an older sibling they see bombing around on their own bike. The ‘Schwinn Jungle Helmet XXS’ is the tiniest size they do and is aimed at the 1+ market. It has from what I can tell all the markings of the larger helmets, but in the smaller size. The only obvious difference is that there is one large piece of padding in the inside, rather than a few dotted around. The element that makes the ‘Schwinn’ so good is the dial at the back that increases or decreased the circumference of the helmet inside. This means that one helmet does not necessarily fit all as you can tweak it to last a few months. I do feel that in this case the helmet won’t last too long as the XXS does seem like something a toddler will grow out of soon enough. You may get 6 months of use out of it, but you do need a helmet if they plan to play on a bike, or you have a seat on your own bike attached for them. What I find a little bemusing about this particular helmet is that it is a ‘boys’ helmet. Yes it is blue, but essentially it is unisex and any child could wear it. I like the Schwinn designed helmets as they are light, easy to adjust and fun to wear. This one is no exception, but will not last as long as some of the others.
