Bought this to add a filter to an old 1970's log splitter and have split 2 cords thus far and no issues!NOTES: 1) make sure you DONT install on the pressure side 2) pay attention to the flow of direction!Doing so will most likely cause the filter or housing to fail as I have read some reviews about this issue.I would buy another in a second.

Works well
Replaced damaged unit on wood splitter. Has ports for gauge if desired. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is casting is a bit rough but doesn't effect function.

Excellent universal filter.
I bought this to replace the original filter on a Do-all surface grinder. The original canister filters are hard to find and very expensive. This one has a lot smaller micron rating and fit in the same space as the original. It will also make annual maintenance a lot easier. Side note- make sure to install it correctly as the oil flow is directional.

This product is junk it worked for about 30 minutes before the pin broke plugged the line and the filter blew off very bad design don’t not buy I had it on a 11gal per min pump this could have hurt someone if I had not of put a safety around it luckily my kids wasn’t around

Broke after 30 minutes use.
The internal bypass broke after less than 30 minutes of use. The broken off parts in turn clogged the return line. Pressure built up in the filter making it blow up and spew hydrualic oil everywhere. Now I'm out over $30 worth of hydraulic oil, the filter assembly, and my time repairing this. Luckily the parts weren't sucked through the pump.

I only got a filter and the photo and description said assembly. There must be a mistake here... Hopefully the company can contact me.

Works perfect
It's a filter. It filters fluid. It's made for a return line and it's directional. Chances are the bad reviews are from people that don't know what they are doing.

1"-12 Thread, same as standard transfer tank type spin on (IE goldenrod)
for $25 for the entire assembly you can't lose. Some reviewers were complaining about hydraulic line applications, but for me as a waste engine oil filter with transfer pump, this is perfect.

Auxillary oil filtration.
Used this item on a oil tank line feeding into a vintage oil furnace.Much less garbage and debris to clean up after now.
