Toro 117-1197 Solenoid

Advertisement used oem part number and claimed to be genuine part. The solenoid, however, was not the same and required modification to the harness to make it work. You can see the difference in the picture. Pretty frustrating and defeats the purpose of convenience and getting it shipped to us. Living out of town there is always something to do. And it’s alot easier to order this part than run to town. But when you have to run to town anyway to buy junk you shouldn’t have to it’s defeating.In my case, I had to rewire the smaller terminals from spade to rings and the nuts for the main terminals were also a different size.

Tried hard to diagnose why my mower would only click when I turned the key. Thought for sure it was my battery not getting charged or my starter had gone. Then I finally came across a forum that gave me a better clue as to what was going on. So I bypassed the solenoid with a piece of wire and discovered that 'that' was the issue. Easily found the part here on Amazon at a good price. It arrived very quickly and was easy to replace on my model (thankfully). Worked a treat.

Good product. Looks great works great. Shipping on the other hand terrible. I live 30 minutes away from where it departed from and took a week and a half to get it. This new trend of making a tracking number to say it has shipped and not shipping it until they get around to it is bad business. Many sellers are starting to do it. And this is one of them. But if you don't mind waiting and are in no hurry. Good purchase here.

OEM part that fits and works great. I had issue with an aftermarket solenoid in less than a year. It was extremely difficult to start my mower and it seemed to be eating my battery up. I switched back to this and haven't had any hard start issues since. One thing to note is that the nuts that hold down the battery cables are not included. This won't be an issue if you're swapping an OEM solenoid, but since mine was aftermarket and the original was nowhere to be found (I didn't install the replacement) it became a minor issue for me (at no fault to this part).

The product is exactly what I needed and was good quality. My issue is not with the product is with the company. I ordered three other items when I bought this one. But this item came to four weeks after all my other items did. And this is a common part the rest weren’t. No excuse
