Atari Flashback Classics: Volume 2

Flashback to the 70s and 80s
Another collection of fun (and many not so fun) games from the Arcade and Atari 2600.Caveat: the first time I ordered this disc, it was defective, covered in a perfumed, greasy residue and I was afraid to put that semi gooey mess in my X-Box One X, so I got a second copy to be safe.If you want to know what games come with this collection, here's a link to answers (you probably saw them above, but if you missed it...) https://www.amazon.com/ask/questions/Tx1ISS9E5YJQMFH/ref=ask_dp_dpmw_al_hzaThe games with (2600) after them will be laughable and you'll wonder why you even bothered buying the collection based solely on the quality of the games, but remember they are 30-40 years old using 8 bit architecture of that era.The games with (Arcade) after the title are the ones you'll probably play multiple times and include a couple addictive classics like Asteroids (and Deluxe sequel) and Missile Command. Those are the games I played multiple times before I removed the disc from the X-Box One. I don't know if it's worth it to get off the couch, go and swap discs, just to play several games of Asteroids or Missile Command, but you never know.Atari should release the Arcade versions of these games individually to the X-Box store for an affordable price and let you buy the ones you'll play often. I was able to find Ms. Pacman in the X-Box store for $4 and it runs from the hard drive without having to swap disc(s) to play.Bottom Line: A (sometimes) fun Time Capsule from the Dark Ages of Video Games.

Paddle Controller?
The graphics and sounds are just like I remember them. The issue I have is with games that required a paddle controller with the original Atari 2600. Not all games used a joystick, and with the xbox controller, that is my only option. Other than that, I am very satisfied with the product. Adventure and Video Pinball were my two favorites as a kid and I love them here just as much.

Includes Arcade (and 2600) Version Emulations of Gravitar!
This particular volume, as is with the nature of all compilations, could be anyone's favorite/most detested at any moment. Myself? I prefer Atari Flashbacks Vol. #3 if only for what seems to be tons of official Atari 5200 vaporware emulations. Flashbacks #2 definitely has Gravitar, though. Almost worth the asking price for that particular title alone. Title arrived sealed and in factory-mint condition.

Mehh
Some of the games are a little glitchy...multiple versions of same games with little variation...game interface could have been more simple instead of virtual atari system

Lots of old Atari games. They have manuals to learn how to play them. However, the controls lag badly. Plus, if the game requires the paddles (for pong like games) then it is exceptionally hard to play using a modern controller. Just didn't get as much fun as I thought.

Good but not great to have on XBox.
Since I used to play these original Atari games when they first came out, I was really happy to be able to find & play them on the XBox One. It's great to be able to get so many titles with one purchase, BUT, keep two things in mind:1) The graphics are very similar to what they were on those old consoles & upright machines- NO better. If you're okay with that, then great.2) The game play experience is a little different because the precision of joysticks on an upright video game was better (believe it or not), so aside from being older, the XBox controller won't make you any better (or really even as good) as you used to be, or could be. I happen to still own a couple of upright machines, so a back to back was easy to do with a couple of these games. Btw, I bought both Vol1 and Vol 2.If you loved those old games (or think you did:), I'd say go ahead & buy- I'm still glad I did, but it would have been nice to see XBox somehow improve the controls/experience on some level.

Original is best
Hard to control with the modern controllers. More frustrating than anything.

Blast from the past!
Another game that brought back great memories of the 80s! I remember playing missile command in my youth and I just couldn't get enough of that game. So when I came across this Atari flashback classic game, I didn't hesitate to get it. The price was reasonable but the most important thing was that this was another item that I couldn't find in Walmart, ToyR Us or even EB games!? Nevertheless the item was delivered to my eager hands in a timely fashion and in good condition. Thank you Amazon for bringing back the past to be relived in the present! Cheers!

The games are great, but hard to control on the Xbox controller
The games are great, but hard to control on the Xbox controller, it would need a paddle controller for Xbox to play the games like in the original way.
