Indian red; interesting opaque watercolor
I got Indian Red under the recommendation of the watercolorist Jane Blundell. This color is extremely opaque and a brownish red. It is unsatured, opaque, and matte. You can dilute it and use it more transparently, but it is definitely more opaque than other pigments/watercolors. When diluted it is more of a pinky red (great color for animal noses/red parts of eyes). Its opacity makes it interesting in mixes. Great for mixing red-browns and making earthy/matte colors (mixed with New Gamboge it makes a really earthy golden orangey brown color- very pretty and unique).
