Works as expected
I installed on an old-school non-suspension mountain bike that I ride occasionally on both roads and trails. I found that it takes the edge off of small bumps on trails and improves comfort overall. I was able to notice the difference. Seat installation was reasonably easy. Had to loosen almost to the point of the hardware coming off before I could slide the seat rails into place. Once this was done, got the seat angle to my liking, tightened the thumbscrew firmly by hand then tightened the hex bolt to secure it into place. Rode a fair number of trail miles and the seat remained in the installed position as it should. A seatpost like this allows for higher tire pressures while keeping the ride comfortable. Thus far, my experience was positive. I weigh about 165lbs and the black elastomer that came installed on the unit seems to work well. Weight of the seatpost with elastomer bumper came in at 479g which is a bit more than the product description's claimed weight of 418g. Very reasonably priced. I did find the rear offset had me sliding my saddle as far forward as the rails would allow. So far, I feel that I can recommend this product.Update a month in: seatpost has started squeaking. Seems like some kind of lubricant should be on the rubber/elastomer bumper to quiet things down. Not sure what type of lube would be appropriate.

Made to fail... impossible to adjust seat position to level.
The front bolt / nut holding this whole thing together is a THUMB NUT. I was unable to secure the thumb nut on the post after tightening the other allen bold to full torque. The thumb nut comes loose easily and will easily break under stress. It's a bad design unless you like your seat leaning back at a marked angle but I still would NOT trust this design. Also, even at 165 lbs I could barely detect the cushioning effect. Returned sadly, needs a complete redesign of the seat attachment system. Quality seemed OK but I could not use it at all.

Beat box set up
Listed Torque setting of 9-10 Nm will cause linkage to lock. Lower torque worked better. Also lube pivot points on linkage. Works Ok now.Use knob to adjust seat first, then 2nd tighten hex bolt. Other wise knob won’t turn.Rode on light trail all good, held together.
