Fantastic Insight into the Commodity Industry
Jonathan Kingsman has written another brilliant addition to his Commodity Conversation series that delves into the unique attributes and challenges of commodity markets from a trader's perspective.Jonathan's books are totally unique in our industry and certainly worth a read for anyone looking to learn more about the forward-looking trends in the world's major crop markets.A+ reading, complex topics are easy to digest, really enjoyable start to finish. This one joins the other two on my shelf from Jonathan, and I've got one more of his on order...!

Excellent -- understand the world by studying it when it's falling apart
As a novelist once quipped, if you want to understand how the world works, study it when it's falling apart. Learning about commodities -- and supply chains -- has been part of my reading diet since the pandemic began. This book is a wonderful contribution to understanding the 'clockwork' behind our world.I found this book hard to put down.-- The writing is refreshingly clear. The reader needs no prior knowledge of commodity markets.-- The rhythm is engaging: after only the first 6 pages we get our first interview with a trader. These short interviews -- which the author is generous with -- are peppered throughout the book.Whether you're a seasoned trader or a layman, you'll find the "what's next" insights to be quite interestingI look forward to reading the rest of the author's books.Note: I bought the print version - which I recommend because the book does include charts. (I find charts and images to be more readable in print books than in Kindle.)Kudos for the brilliant cover!

Insightful interviews with top professionals
I recently read Jonathan Kingsman "Commodity Crops and the Merchants Who Trade Them," and highly recommend it to anyone in the agri commodities sector. This is my third time reading Jonathan’s work, and he continues to impress me with the writing style and vast industry knowledge.Similar to his previous book, "Commodity Conversations: An Introduction to Trading in Agricultural Commodities", Jonathan explores the world of commodity trading by interviewing experienced professionals from top agri-commodity trading houses. These interviews offer a unique glimpse into various positions, including trading, logistics, risk management, and execution, and provide valuable insights into the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.I first discovered Jonathan through his 2015 book "Commodity Conversations: An Introduction to Trading in Agricultural Commodities" and was immediately drawn to the writing style and gained further admiration after reading “The New Merchants of Grain: Out of the Shadows."Overall, I strongly recommend "Commodity Crops and the Merchants Who Trade Them" to anyone interested in the agri commodity industry. Jonathan’s works offer valuable insights into this fascinating and complex market.

An interesting book with some great insights from traders active in the business today and views on the challenges being faced. The book also provided great introductions to the actual agri commodity crops and their significance in the world economy
