excellent product
In my opinion this is an excellent product. If I was going to do it over, I would probably choose the WAC505, because the specs as an AP look similar, and it is less expensive, apparently mostly because there is no router capability. However, I am happy with the WAC510 operated as an AP. One additional comment - I've seen complaints about this product not including an external power supply. But if your other equipment supports PoE, it is a wonderful thing. One less cable to get tangled, one less wall wart to find an outlet for. Even if you don't have PoE power sources, an injector doesn't really cost more than a DC power supply, and you have freedom as to where you put it. For example, I have the PoE injector for a WAC510 at the router end of the ethernet cable, where it is out of the way.As a single AP, the WAC510 is as easy to set up as I could ask for. There are quite a few of what I would consider advanced options (e.g. spanning tree protocol), but as far as I can tell, these can pretty much all be left at their defaults with no harm. Reviews seem to rave about the "Insight" system and app, but the web interface is fine in my experience and situation. As a single AP, I would say the signal levels and throughput in my home with the WAC510 are pretty similar to the TP-link Archer A6 router/AP that I tested. As they say, YMMV. The netgear is quite a bit more attractive and unobtrusive. In my home, it is pretty much impossible to cover the entire extent of my 2000 sq. ft. home plus basement using a single AP @5GHz. Long story short, the only practical placement of an AP leaves a dead zone in the corner of the house we are in most often. So I decided to add a second WAC510 using the bridging option. The manual instructions for setting up a bridge between two APs are pretty clear, but I had some questions, so I submitted an email ticket to netgear support. They responded within 24 hours, and answered my questions clearly and completely, so at this point I am very happy with Netgear support. The bridge evened out the coverage in my house as I had hoped, and my wireless clients transparently switched between APs as I moved around the house. The key in making the clients switch to the strongest AP appears to be activating load balancing by RSSI, and the option to disconnect sticky clients. The problem with the bridge setup is that there is a tradeoff in maximum performance through the bridge. It is cut roughly in half because of the extra hop from AP to AP when data is transmitted. A better solution is to operate multiple APs individually. However, with this scenario you have to be able to connect APs to the wired network in places where they will provide maximum coverage.Overall the bottom line is I am very happy with the product and Netgear support.

A pleasure to install, setup, and use.
Unlike to previous, 50% more expensive, and very highly rated, WAP product (I'll not mention manufacturer) that I just purchased and returned after one hour of disastrous SW brain damage, this device from NETGEAR is first class. I have no idea how the other vendor could have turned a WAP Admin GUI into a total gratuitously blingy and corrupt science fair project but they did it. A serious pain to install on WIn 10, needed to downlad a specific version of Jave, and on and none. Crap.NETGEAR's WAC510 install and setup was friction-less, and the Insight Managed Smart Cloud Access is easy and actually fun to use. I can manage it on both my mobile device and my workstations and laptops. Boot time is fast, coverage area is fast, physical packaging and industrial design are great.I use and have installed many other WI-FI routers, bridges, and WAPs; this was the best experience I've ever had. It seems gone are the days to setting a fixed IPv4 IP Address on the setup machine and hoping you can connect to 192.168.1.1 (or 0.1, or 192.168.0.254, or...) may be gone. ANd dealing with a glacially slow micro inside the WAP that takes forever to refresh the control panel? This thing is fast.Recently burned, now very happy.

Great Access Point for Small Businesses and Homes
I am an IT professional and I own a company who provides services to both businesses and residential customers. This access point works great for houses or businesses with a lot of space. The product arrived and was nearly packed inside the box. There are instructions on easy setup included. I did decided to go with a more advanced setup. One thing someone unfamiliar with access points my have trouble with is the dashboard. The dashboard is a little difficult to navigate and could have been setup better. They tried to separate basic and advanced but ended up just making it more difficult to find basic configuration options. The box does include all the mounting hardware and the mount for this AP. After I mounted the device and configured it worked flawlessly. I tested it’s range in a very large home and the signal on the 2 APs reaches all 3 stories easily.I would recommend this device for medium to advanced technology users. I think it could really improve your network quality and signals inside your home/Business.

Good Range
Got this to replace a router I was using as a WAP. I wanted Wi-Fi outside and the existing router didn't have the range. This reaches outside although the signal isn't very strong. Better than nothing though.Only thing is when I initially hooked it up it wouldn't work. Contacted tech support and had to hook it directly to a laptop and download new firmware. Been working great ever since. The Ubiquti WAP I tried before this didn't work either but they had no tech support. None at all. Which I couldn't believe. Apparently it's only for business customers.

Excellent power and range for a great price
With two, I'm able to provide excellent coverage across a three-story, 2500sq. ft. house.Getting started with the setup took a couple of tries. I ended up having to connect a laptop to the LAN out port and log in with default credentials. You'll need to a little bit about routing and networking to get it configured. The configuration and monitoring options are great. Far more than I'll ever really need.

Solid Fast WiFi
We bought for our hotel. These work super solid. Combined it with the Netgear Cloud Switch and their INSIGHT app (we can even remotely reboot a rooms wifi if ever needed); but get full insight into data being used. Great speeds and nice controls for POP UP join wifi screen. Great job Netgear.

The coverage for the house between the 2 is great. NO dead spots

But I like the mounting bracket
The biggest problem for me is this AP doesn't support WPA2-Enterprise authentication. It has only WPA2-PSK or WPA/WPA2-PSK. So, I don't consider it as a business-class AP. Even my Netgear R7000 has WPA2-Enterprise option. But I like the mounting bracket. It makes wall mount quite easy.Keep in mind this AP is designed to use PoE as primary power. Even though power cord is another option, it doesn't come in the package. So if you don't have PoE, you need to buy a power adapter separately.

Stopped working after a few hours
This device stopped working after a few hours. Reset doesn't do anything. No lights, nothing. Pretty disappointed as I cannot even return anymore, since my return window closed as it took a long time for me to install it.
