Like 'Bop it', but with coloured pucks
This is a variation of the gametype started years ago with 'Simon' - an electronic game based on the old parlour game 'Simon says' - it would flash colours and you had to follow the patterns. With Hyperslide, you are given four coloured pucks which you have to slide under the plastic bridge when prompted for the appropriate colour by a rather cheesy American voice. Somehow it knows which colour you've chosen. It all gets rather hectic as the time allowed to satisfy the colours demanded gets shorter and shorter. Your score is based on how many times you can do it.There's a one-player game which involves attaching a rubber band to make the pucks bounce back, but the most fun is had when playing against an opponent - each player starts with two pucks, and the machine somehow keeps track of which player has the pucks. It's clever and fun, and like Bop It Extreme 2 it relies on the difficulty we all have in following instructions (for some reason it's similar to patting your head and rubbing your tummy - the brain has problems with it!!!).There are 3 variations to the game: the basic one described above (1 and 2 player); a one-player codebreaking game where you have to work out the four colour code in the shortest time (of limited appeal); and a memory game where the sequence demanded is extended by one more each time (1 and 2 player versions).I liked the feature which records the highest all-time and current session records.I bought this for my 8-year-old and he wasn't very impressed - the adults had a bit of fun with it though. I have to say that Bop It was better, as it contained similar types of games but with buttons you flick or twist instead (to a funky beat that makes you end up dancing!). If you like this type of game, get Bop It Extreme 2 instead.

8+? Younger kids will enjoy more
This was a present for my Nephews 9th birthday. It said for ages 8+ and I thought it was a great take on a simlar toy I enjoyed when I was younger. My 9yr old Nephew played with it for about 2 mins, got bored and played something else. When I asked my Sister if he's played with it since she said no he's not that keen on it. However, she did say that his 4yr old(nearly 5) brother loves it and can't stop playing it. He sits there for hours sliding the counters through. Don't be put off by the 8+.

MY 6 YR. OLD GRANDSON LOVES IT!
Gave this gift to my grandson who is not a lay back kind of kid. He loves action and he loves and plays ice hockey and is great at it. I bought this because it said it has similarities to a hockey game and I liked the idea that he has to follow the commands given as far as which colored "puck" to try to get to the goal - it can sense if you've used the wrong colored puck and lets you know. From the minute he took it out of the box, he just wouldn't put it down -- always asking to do it just one more time. And, I like that it kind of has to be played on a table so that he is confined as to where he can play with it and no one will be tripping over it or it's pucks/chips on the floor. It's also great that there's a storage area for the pucks when the game is not in use. Seems like a great toy that will keep the interest of a little boy who usually loses interest in things quickly. Oh, and the flashing lights and audio is a big plus! The only thing I am not happy about is that it's almost $10 cheaper today than it was when I ordered it but hey!, that's the way it goes sometimes. Has nothing to do with the toy - just my timing.

Fun reflex game reminiscent of Simon
Really fun game that tests reflexes and memory. Works well and seems well constructed. The solo version works better than I expected, insert rubber band which returns pucks to the player automatically. Remove band for two players. Some owners seem to be under the impression that the game has no off switch but simply hold the two top buttons and the game will turn off.The most simple game is called Fast Pass and players simply slide discs under the arch as they are called out.Second game is Add One in which the game calls out a sequence, adding a new disc with each turn, for example, "Green, blue, go. Gree, blue, red, go."Last game and most challenging for us is Code Breaker. The game tells you which color to begin with, for example yellow, and players must then guess which colors follow in the sequence, the game telling you if you are correct with sounds. We are enjoying it very much.
