More aggressive than Abralon?
When I first received these pads, I wasn't very impressed. They're 5" diameter (an inch smaller than usual Abralon pads for bowling ball surface alterations) and stiff in comparison to Abralon pads. But the glaring difference IMHO was the grittiness difference between these and Abralon pads of the stated same grit. It seemed like the difference was nearly one "class" - a 1000 grit Maitys pad cut like a 500 grit Abralon pad; a 2000 grit Maitys cut like a 1000 grit Abralon. Now that I've had a chance to use these along with Abralon pads, I'm aware of the differences between the two and can adjust accordingly. While I still prefer Abralon, I'm a closet fan of these Maitys pads due to accomplishing what I want at a much lower cost compared to Abralon and other sanding pads. I would caution that using these pads dry may cause heavy scratching and/or a much lower grit finish than expected. Using these on a spinner with water or ball cleaner tends to work better finish and grit-wise but still a bit rougher than you might've desired.

Great Pad for Putting Surface on Bowling Balls
This pad is very aggressive no matter what grit you are using. It really works to put surface on the bowling ball and give you traction in oil, however, be careful not too rub too hard on the ball because it will definitely change the original surface. Much more aggressive than Abralon pads
