I just hooked this up, and won't know the full effect until it gets dark. But there's one issue I'm not too happy about - the remote control receiver must be visible to the Infra-red remote or nothing works. The top-most website item picture shows the receiver hanging down below the TV (it's the wire hanging straight down from the little box) so presumably it's visible from the front, but the next to last picture shows it completely behind the set, and it definitely won't work from the front of the set that way. Nothing was mentioned about the importance of locating the receiver, and my assumption was that it would work as shown in the pictures.I'll know more later.

Received the item today, and one of the RED led's is already dead. It's one LED so I don't really want to hassle with customer service, and mail stuff back and wait again. Instead it gets the review it deserves.The LED that is out is a red one. This might seem very minor, but the fact that you can select different colors with LED blending causes a blue instead of a Purple. For strobes it just doesn't have the intensity that it should have.Another issue is the tape. The tape cover is very difficult to separate from the actual tape. What you end up doing is peeling the tape off the Lights instead. A quick press can stick it back to the lights, but every time you miss, it degrades the tape's stickiness.It's a nice design, but the quality is obviously lacking here, I would not purchase this product again.

So far I love it! The colors are soothing and it was a pretty easy setup after figuring out that the box has to be on the bottom so the remote will work. I’m thinking about buying more for other items. But seriously,for the remote to work, attach the box to the bottom of your tv because there’s a sensor on the box that works with the remote so you don’t want that hanging in front of your tv so hence why it needs to be on the bottom where it’s gardly seen. Let’s see if these light will really last 30,000 hours

I was excited to put this together after I received it. The idea if it being powered over the TV's USB port was great because we have our TV mounted and wires routed through the walls. So any wires hanging would have taken away from the clean look. Product arrived in good condition though there was one pin that arrived bent. I was able to carefully straighten it out and it caused no issues at all. Not worth deducting a start since the lights still worked.Overall very easy to install and the 3M adhesive strip was incredible sticky. Very good quality for the adhesive which was what I appreciated. I knew that once installed, I wouldn't have to worry about it again.I will say that the remote requires the receiver to show so I had to have a small wire barely viable on the bottom of the TV but you can hardly notice it. You can see in my pictures that it's barely visible and doesn't bother me.Overall its a great product, easy to install, and does exactly what i was looking for.

The colors are very nice and bright, and the strips stick very well. However, the remote is buggy, and I do not have the functionality of the 7 color "smooth" option available, and can only cycle between red, green, and blue. When I hit "fade" it resets the color to white, so I have to press the color I want again. Not bad for the price, but a bit unreliable.11/15/19About 2.5 years later and these are still working really well. The tape still sticks fairly well, and I've only had 1 blue led cut out on the whole strip. For what I paid, these have lasted really well. I've figured out the remote, which still doesn't work as intended, but I can get all the functions by pressing certain buttons multiple times. Overall, I'd recommend these.

I love the numerous and vibrant colors that these LED strips emanate. Unfortunately, the flash, strobe, fade, & smooth transition options have stopped working with the remote control. Whenever I try to use one of those effects, it just goes to a random solid color and stays that way. The remote is very buggy in general and will sometimes switch to the wrong color when I press any button. That doesn't bother me too much though. I mostly bought this product to make my room & my computer look cool and it has worked just fine for that at a low cost.

I ordered one of these light strips for my TV about a year ago and it has worked perfectly ever since and looks great. I bought a new (and larger) tv recently so decided to get two more from the same seller. Both boxes (not the amazon boxes but actual product packaging) looked like they had already been opened when I got them and the light strips did not work. Each order has two seperate strips so you can put on each side or connect across the top, so of the four total strips I received, two worked okay and the other two would not light up at all, and even the ones that worked would not respond to the remote or if it did it would change to the wrong color, and they would randomly turn on and off. So, I gave an extra star for the product I bought that did work but the most recent order was useless.

The lights are great and easy to install. It does add an extra dynamic when watching movies. The lights are bright and vibrant.Only draw back is the interference from other remotes. I have a Roku Express, if I push up on the Roku remote it turns the color red, if I push left, it turns the color blue. When I use my Vizo surround sound remove, the color turns yellow. It's not too much of a bother unless I'm flipping around trying to find something to watch.
