Shapes wood like nothing you've ever used before! (If you've never used a tool such as this) It moves material crazy fast and the holes let you see what you're doing as you're doing it. I've used a similar product, without the holes, and it worked great. But when I got this one and could see what I was doing as I was doing it, I was thoroughly happy. These types of tools can be quite dangerous, but being able to see your work further reduces the possibility of an accident.If you want to move wood fast and accurate, this is the tool for you. It will need some finish work, but the time saving is well worth what work is left after using this Holey Galahad!Bottom line: great tool for the money. Worked exactly as claimed. Tooth wear has been minimal which leads me to believe it will last for quite some time. I'd definitely buy another if this one ever wears out... unfortunately for the maker I'm not sure it ever will! Great product, fair price, and shipping was as expected (7-10 days.)

I'm a rookie woodcarver and bought this to use on a maple slab. It fit my Ryobi angle grinder securely and removed wood quickly without "grabbing." It throws a LOT of coarse sawdust farther than you'd think. This was a good investment that works better than other cheaper knock-offs.

This only took 10 minutes. Pretty cool tool. I think they are highly priced compared to other grinder accessories which is the only 4 star portion. Knocks out wood very easy and smoothly. First little tester went like butter. Wouldn't lay it flat and would recommend using it at an angle softly to prevent the heavy pull on whatever surface you are working on.

The disc seems to function fine, their are clearly some manufacturing issues with it though, right out of the box their were teeth that were knocked off or were sideways and then painted over, this was kind of disappointing considering the price of this unit, but that being said, I don't think it had a large effect on the overall functionality. This is not a finely honed plane iron, a few Knicks here and there are not exactly the end of the world. I've only used it for one project so far which was shaping a chair seat in black walnut. It removed material fast and I was able to maintain a good level of control considering it's inherent kind of barbaric nature. I do feel like the whole proprietary luck nut issue is absurd and in need of some resolution. The nut should just come with the unit or at least make it an available add-on in the checkout options instead of making people hunt around for it.

This was my first purchase of a King Arthur product and it is doing a super job. I use it to carve bowls and it quickly cuts and shapes the wood and is easy to control. I also purchased the fine toothed Holey Galahad disc. Be sure to wear all your safety equipment since the wood dust and chips will rapidly fill the air around you.

This cutter works like a charm and is very durable. I was concerned because some reviewers had mentioned issues with broken off teeth, but after my extensive use on hardwoods like white oak, black walnut, hard maple, beech, I cannot confirm this. My cutter still has all his teeth. It really removes material very fast, but you should let it do its job and not force it into the wood. By doing that, the cutter wil last a very long time and you wont risk any kickbacks. :)

I bought this to shape violin back and belly plates. It works really well. Even on a hard maple back, and I mean HARD, it turned a 2+ hour chisel and mallet job into a 15 minute job. The coarse disk cuts really aggressively, it is not appropriate for the much softer spruce top. It cuts that so fast you can grind right through in an eyeblink.This is an outside toy, the dust it produces is widely distributed.

This tool works great. I'm using it to "dish out" wooden seats for four dining chairs. Two of the chairs will have hickory seats and two will have walnut seats. After completing the two hickory seats the tool had a lot of wood embedded in it. I cleaned it according to the provided instructions using oven cleaner. After about 15 minutes the embedded wood was gone - so was the green paint. Oh well, I thought no harm done. The next morning I went out to mount it back on my grinder and noticed it had already started rusting. Not too happy considering the cost on this tool. Guess I'll be storing it covered in a coating of oil.
