Amaz247 Enhanced WiFi Game remote w/ Headphone jack for Roku 2/ 3/ 4, Roku stick, Roku Premiere+ and Roku Ultra(Generic Packaging Black)

This appears to be the only “Roku” remote I could find online with a headphone Jack. I figured I was taking a risk with it being off brand, but I needed a new remote for my daughters Roku 4. The volume down button stopped working on her original remote level.Pros:Only remote I could find compatible with Roku that offers a headphone Jack.Easy to pair once you know where the pairing button is.Seller offered a refund and sent a free shipping label.Cons:Headphone Jack is a little lower on this generic remote compared to the original. I bought a silicone cover and had to cut a hole in it for the headphones.The remote size is slightly different.This remote makes a clicking sound when you push the buttons and isn’t quiet like Roku. (I read this in the reviews but figured I’d try the remote anyway)The instructions did not explain where the pairing button was.Once I found the pairing button (by the batteries)... my Roku said now pairing device, but I couldn’t put the battery case back on without bumping the pairing button and starting all over again.As I’m navigating through Roku... the remote keeps trying to re-sync every 5-10 seconds.I’ve unplugged and replugged in my Roku 10X and the remote still does this after successfully pairing.I’ve tried Duracell, energizer and rayovac batteries in this remote with no improvement.There is no speaker on the back of the remote like Roku has.I wish there was a different option on the market or that Roku made a replacement remote. I probably would have kept this remote if it stopped trying to pair all the time. I’m returning this remote.

I have a Roku-3 and had the original controller go bad. This one is one of the few knock-offs that has the phone-jack to work with the Roku-3. It has some, what I believe are, totally worthless buttons for specific channels on the front -- those are already built into Roku and just as easily accessible from the Roku menu, but those types of quick-access buttons now seem everywhere.I have had a very regular bit of trouble with the device in one respect. Changing the batteries have been a problem *every* time. They insert just fine. However, I have *never* had them power up the device without constantly fiddling with them to effect a contact to activate the controller -- either by "rolling" the batteries in place, removing the and re-inserting them, removing them & replacing with another set of brand new batteries, etc. it always takes a couple of minutes, but, eventually the device does activate & I'm good to go...

Works with my Roku 3 4200 from 2014. When pairing, put fresh batteries and push the little button near the battery light flashs in the front of remote restart the Roku either pull the plug or push restart with other remote, when the Roku come back on screen the pairing light should still be flashing, the on screem you will see that it is pair your new remote, when done your remote should work. I always use this method with my other Roku 3 with other remotes.. this one had slight problem at first, I just had to rotate the batteries to make sure they were making good connection in the battery dept. no problem since. I am just glad it was compatible with my Roku 3. Yes the Hulu amazon etc shortcut buttons are a wate not really needed. David J

Have purchased two of these items, both times because the original Roku remotes were either unavailable or on backorder from Roku. I like the button that rewinds the video 10 seconds and turns on the subtitles on for that same period. That is very helpful figuring out what someone said in a movie, especially with how actors mumble so much anymore. Now the problems. First unit, after a couple months, began acting as though there was a loose connection inside. It would have to be shaken or tapped to get the buttons to respond. Tried changing batteries and cleaning battery contacts but nothing helped. The headphone audio was also almost unusable with scratchiness and cutting in and out. Tried several different headphones but no difference. Second unit the buttons work good but the headphone audio is also problematic in that it cuts in and out and is scratchy, but not as bad as the first one. I wouldn't recommend buying these remotes if the OEM Roku remote is available to order, especially if it is priced the same, as other reviewers have stated.

The remote control works well, although the keys are a bit on the stiff side. I am sure they will work better as they are used. As for the headphone jack, both myself and my husband notice that the volume is very scratchy as we use it. If you move the jack around you can hear the crackling of the speakers no matter the volume. Very disappointing to use.

I am sure this is a 5-star product. Problem is, we ordered something that was not compatible with our TV's. It really should be a top winner. We had to return ours.

Works well. However, it took me over 10 minutes to pair it to my roku device because I couldn't find the pairing button. The directions never state where the pairing button is located. Apparently, everyone is just supposed to KNOW that the pairing button is underneath the battery compartment door. I'm just technologically impaired. It was for the kids anyway. Maybe they should pair the devices from now on.

Headphone audio is problem spot for this design. The first unit I purchased from them the volume control would not work. This most recent unit I am reviewing here, the audio is cracking and cutting out. I changed batteries and tried different headsets to no avail. I was encouraged that I received an email from the manufacturer shortly after the purchase to follow up and ensure customer satisfaction. This is good. I responded that I was having problems within the 24hours they requested and I have not heard anything back in a few days. This is bad. I will see if I can return this unit and then, as another reviewer pointed out, go to ROKU directly.
