Anne's talent for deep friendships will be put to the test as the unique stories of each of her friends play out in "House of Dreams."Anne and Gilbert will learn new roles, she as wife, housekeeper, and mother, he as husband, father, and as the new doctor in town. They will experience their first argument, over one of Gilbert's patients, and their first tragedy as a couple, regarding their first child. Memorable read.
Wow! I can't believe I've come so far with Anne in her journey and only one book of the series is left. It's so sad. Yes, it seemed like i had been with her at every turn of the way and i can't bear to part now. God! How beautifully the author weaved the character of Anne. She'll always be with me no matter WHERE i go, in mind and heart. i am never losing the whole series of Anne of Green Gables. Never ever!

Anne's House of Dreams, by L. M. Montgomery.
This book describes Anne and Gilbert's experiences in their first years of marriage, when they settle down in an idyllic house at Four Winds Harbour, near the village of Glen St. Mary. They meet Captain Jim, a real character who looks after the lighthouse and who has had a most adventurous life; and Miss Cornelia, who professes to despise Methodists and men yet who has a really kind heart who get teased a lot! Then there is the man with long hair and a long beard who refuses to get either cut until the right party is elected to govern. Will he be recognisable when the government changes? Then there is Leslie, who has seen so much tragedy in her life. Anne and Gilbert get involved with all these people and others - and there are lots of incidents - funny ones, sad ones, meaningful ones; Anne and Gilbert face the heartbreak of losing Anne's first baby; but later we see the birth of little baby Jem. We see how Anne arranges for Captain Jim's book to be written - and become a best seller; we see how Gilbert saves a woman's life - and how Anne tries to discourage him from operating on someone, thinking it'll bring unhappiness. We see how the truth sets someone free. There is much, much, more. And through all the book is Anne's own poetic imagination that is so appealing and so moving. This is another book that is both moving and enjoyable and well worth reading.

Nice Hardcover for the Price...
I purchased this book because I had previously bought the book "Anne of the Island", which is the 3rd book in the Anne of Green Gables series, and this one, "Anne 's house of Dream's' is the "4th" and was published by the same company as the third book I previously mentioned. So, it just picked up where the third book had left off and continued the saga of Anne and Gilbert Blythe. Also, I like the fact this book was a hardcover edition and reasonably priced as well. You might want to purchase "both" books together if you like the Anne of Green Gable series: "Anne of the Island" and "Anne's House of Dream's".
